"Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them. A bit on the basic side (no desk in the room, no towels, no dedicated wifi (something cloudy that didn’t work on 4th floor, so I tethered iPad to phone). toilet and shower a bit “military grade” but the price point was exceptional. "It is such an unusual venue renovated by owners and a life’s achievement and still renovating- you have got to go to experience its uniqueness / great array of stuff for breakie and there is a Antique Centre run by Peters wife - a must!"

"Das Hotel ist seit Anfang des Jahres geschlossen! Wir standen um 22.00 Uhr auf der Straße und mussten uns nachts noch ein Hotel organisieren!
Sorry geht gar nicht!"

"We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat.
We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome.
Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!)
All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast"
