"The entire staff is wonderful, gracious and so helpful. The location is excellent if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxed getaway, far from the large resorts. Old Fort Bay Club is beautiful, situated on a stunning beach without crowds of people. Very good food (we preferred the Italian restaurant over the Asian). Gym is very good and the pool is decently sized for those who like to swim laps. Room and bathroom are clean and spacious. The only thing missing is mini fridge."
"Really helpful staff. Great free coffee. Little water in room. Great A/C and comfy bed. Big minus was pool being out of action, not told and we planned on using that for a day. Also quite far from town center but handy for airport. "
"We enjoyed the location which was away from the large, commercial, stereotype complexes that try to keep you in their “hotel bubble.” This is a small and quiet place that offers tranquility. It has a charming beach front with trees. You are away from the congested traffic, 11 minutes south from the airport and close to other beaches in the area. A 15 minute drive to Clifton Memorial park offers pristine beaches that are natural and isolated. A 2 minute walk from the Villas takes you to a scuba diving shop offering 2 tank dives and snorkeling twice a day. Lots of fish, a few sharks swimming about with interesting plant life.
We enjoy the rustic setting. The rooms come with a kitchen, stove and fridge, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The units contain an upper and lower. Upper having a balcony with a total of 12 ( or more)units.
We were told that the place just opened 5 days before we arrived since its closing during COVID.
It needs some TLC and is slowly going through a restoration.
The cook Keagan had inventive and tasty food offerings as well as excellent advice for local attractions. The assistant cook and the hostess/bartender were cordial and very friendly. They offered a fine selection of Cuban cigars and very nice local beer.
If you want to get away from the commercial hotel complexes that charge you an insane $88.00 breakfast, then check it out."
"Bad area to stay the night as a tourist it is not close to any of the resorts or tourist attractions I ended up leaving didn’t even spend the night the whole week I was there I had to buy a hotel room close to the beach"
"These pleasant, self-contained units are ideal for a short stay when you need to be near the airport - literally 5 minutes away. The air con was very good full-size fridge freezer was a huge bonus. The taps in our unit were fitted the wrong way around!
Check in was quick and easy with the friendly host.
The bar/restaurant didn't seem to be open while we were there and there was no indication of when it would be. The pool needed cleaning but we were only there for 2 nights so it didn't affect us.
Reasonably priced for the island, which is generally expensive! "
"Our unit at Palm Cay was spacious and modern - three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and we really appreciated the laundry facilities. We also enjoyed the pool, gym and private beach.
Our only complaint was the staff and their inconsistent application of "rules" around beach pier access. My adult son and his girlfriend (both age 21) were told that they couldn't access the pier one evening - for no apparent reason (they said it was "closed" - yet there was no signage). However, later that same evening my husband and I sat on the pier with no issue and we saw other "older" guests access the pier with no complaint. The next day, my younger son (age 17), who was sitting with us in the cabana on the pier was told that he had to leave as "children were not allowed". I remarked that the pool sign also states it is "Adults Only" - but includes in brackets (16+), which suggests that the resort considers age 16 and over to be adults. In both cases, we felt that staff unfairly targeted young people, and made our boys - including the 21 year old - feel unwelcome. With a price tag of >$600/night for our stay I expected a more friendly and welcoming environment."
