"We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed and the breakfast excellent. Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. We would have no hesitation in recommending Critchley Hackle and hope to return ourselves next year."

"The day after we got there our neighbors woke up so early and their car was pumping music nonstop I eventually called the Reception after 2 hours was told that they would send Securities into the place. Was so disappointed that there is no wi fi coverage in the rooms even in the Restaurant area you must sit in a certain area, that for me was a no no my kids wanted us to move out immediately we realize that we were screwed. The day before I checked out same thing happened, my neighbors played...

"The highlights of our stay here were the incredibly friendly staff and the generous food options. The service was akin to 5 star hotels - attentive, thoughtful and friendly. "The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke. Rooms do all need a little TLC. Staff is very friendly and helpful."
