4/10 Poor

"Old, scratched, and in places broken furniture; a thick layer of dust on the bathroom exhaust fan; uncleaned hair on the floor left by previous guests; dried spit on the wall and neighbors jumping around on the floor upstairs. Guys, you have grossly overestimated the nightly rate for your rooms."

"I experienced the same things as most of the reviews 3 months prior to mine. The key system was down on the night I came. The staff was helpful and informative on it, and it was working the next morning as I was handed my keys. what that said, I recommend utilizing the mobile check-in via mobile device, if you know how to do so that may or may not save you the hassle. I did find one ant near my AC unit, but no more. The room was probably in the best shape out of the hotel. Overall, it does seem to be an eight out of 10 hotel, my experience would give it a 7.5. It’s low for Hilton, but not bad overall."

"The hotel is in a perfect area so if you’re only going there to sleep it’s perfect. The reason why it is 3 stars for me was because we weren’t able to check in until 6pm because they said the rooms weren’t ready. They never called us when a room was ready so the only reason we were able to check in at 6 was because we went to ask again. Also, the toilet in our bathroom was leaking each time you flushed & the nails separating the bathroom from the main area were up so my husband hurt his foot accidentally walking over it."

Abbey Resort and Avani Spa

"I read a lot of reviews both good and not so good prior to booking and here’s what I can say. We loved the place. While it’s an extremely large, sprawling place it was also quiet and very enjoyable. There was a wedding taking place by the marina. The Abbey is kid friendly but also romantic for couples. In some of the reviews people discussed the upkeep. Sure they could do some updating and repairs but with the size of the resort, we felt that it was in very nice condition overall. Lots of parking, several pools (indoor and outdoor) plus hot tubs. There are a couple restaurants, a bar, live music and a coffee bar. We stayed in building 4 which was in the middle and very walkable to everything at the resort. The staff were very very friendly. Thank you for a nice overnight getaway, we will be back."
