"An excellent location, and a wonderful pool. Good price, and a small, cute place. What was not so good, was our experience checking in. We had booked a garden room, but apparently these were "fully booked", and we were given a lesser room with a street view (a noisy street). We tried to explain that this was not what we booked, but they insisted it was the same, and that the two garden rooms were not available. We could switch the next day. That was fine, but we did not want to pay full price...

"We stayed at Sounds of Nature for 5 nights and it was the best accommodation we had in our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. The hotel is only about 6 months old . Dima our Host was wonderful - cooked our breakfast, was very helpful, nothing was a problem for him, such a lovely person! Every morning around 5.30am the monkeys came to feed on the trees right outside our room. There were also squirrels, birds, tiny lizards - it truly was the "Sounds of Nature" . "I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "
