Nice Hotel - Inefficient Check-In

I booked this hotel for two nights through an online hotel website. When I arrived, I was told the hotel was full, and they didn't have a room for me. I told them I booked and paid for it online, and I was asked to see my online confirmation. I showed it to them, and suddenly there was an available room. Check-in seems very unorganised and inefficient. The guy I was speaking to didn't have a book or computer or anything in front of him with bookings or records or anything. While speaking to me, he was also on his mobile phone speaking to sommeone else about me arriving to stay. Anyway, once this little confusion was cleared up, the room itself was nice, and big. The staff were generally helpful,and the breakfast was nice. It's very close to the beach. The staff also booked a tuk tuk for me to return to Galle when I was leaving. The bathroom is kind of small, and when you shower, the water covers the whole floor, as there is no lip or anything to seperate the shower floor from the rest of the bathroom floor. But in the heat of Sri Lanka, it dries quite quickly. Overall, this hotel was lovely to stay in - they just need to improve their administration and organisation.

Vi havde 2 nætter på hotellet. Vi fik til at starte med et rent, rummeligt værelse. Problemet var dog, at værelsets aircondition ikke virkede ordentligt (det tog en krig at få bare en nogenlunde temperatur). Så viste de os et andet værelse, som dog vat fyldt med myrer og insekter på badeværelset, hvilket vi påpegede, hvorefter personale sagde, at det havde været tomt i flere dage. Vi fik vist et tredje værelse, hvor der også var mere beskidt, og vi besluttede derfor at blive på det første værelse med den dårlige aircondition. Alle andre steder i Sri Lanka har vi haft en fin aircondition, så der er ingen tvivl om, at den er i stykker her. Der var et par kakkelakker på badeværelset den første nat. Morgenmaden er ok, men vi har fået bedre morgenmad andre steder. Personalet var flinkt og hjælpsomme med hvalsafari. Lokationen er god. Tæt på restauranter, små supermarkeder, stranden og havnen. Man kan gå til det hele. Wifi virkede ikke altid så godt, selvom vi havde et værelse tæt på "receptionen". Der er en del myg, så husk at bruge myggenettet. Vi valgte at tage et nyt hotel i nærheden efter de to nætter, da vi ikke synes, det var pengene værd her.

Great cabanas

Great little cabanas located about 5 minute walk from the main beach. Rooms were clean and well presented, had lovely views over the small river nearby and even feed monkeys. Grounds keeps in very good condition and when you could find them, the staff went Out of their way to help in every manner.

One of the best places we stayed at, not because it was the best room or so, it was nice and fair for the price we paid, however the staff was super friendly and really wanted us to feel at home, great place. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

A note: When I got to this hotel, my room wasn't free (this probably meant that the room that was checked for me in my reservation), was actually already in use. So I had to stay in a family room for the first night. And that's not a bad thing, because I had space of four persons, while travelling solo. ;) But my stuff needed to packed again to bags after the first evening, because they transferred bags to "my room". I gave only three for the cleanliness of rooms (from 1 - 5), because room wasn't cleaned during my stay and bathroom floor didn't get dry between my showers.
