"This place was a special place for us. The team at Karatu really were special who did out of their way to provide for us when there were issues, and when the first room seemed to have issues (shower drainage, bee hive on the roof, urine smell) they quickly changed the room to a better closer room, and always were helpful in arranging or finding different solutions for transportation issues etc. The place is located 2 hours from Arusha, and around 30 mins from the main gate for Ngorongoro crater....

"Really enjoyed my stay at Tarangire Simba Lodge. The grounds backed onto the park. It was so exciting seeing elephants and other animals around the perimeter, drinking from a natural watering hole. The staff were lovely, and I was lucky to have the owner staying at the same time as they were so engaging and made my stay even better. Outside Tarangire, but a must stay if you're planing a safari in the park. "

"The camp is OK, good electricity, lighting, some hot water, but it is on a large scale and has the feeling of a large corporation. The food is not very good. It is fine but I would recommend a more intimate setting for a safari camp. "

"Terrific property with luxurious treetop room , amazing food and wonderful service. No hot water for two days and really could use the pool they are building … but otherwise just perfect!"

"This is a challenging review to write. The property is lovely and the staff was kind-though limited in their ability to resolve the issues. If you are looking for secluded, beautiful and restful, this could be the place for you. However it is located far from any town and further from many of the sites we chose to visit. "What an amazing experience! Sleeping quarters for 5 people were right but the price was right and space didn’t matter when waking up to zebras, wildebeests and monkeys in your front yard! Food was great, drinks were great, and staff was lovely. I saw some people complaint about hot water but it’s Africa! What do you expect?!! A cold shower was nothing to complain about when all that wildlife is passing through your camp! "

"They did not have our booking(pre paid) which is understandable somewhat because they are out in the middle of no where, but there was no attempt on the staffs part to help fix the problem. we ended up leaving 1.5 hours later than we wanted and paid with a Card(got a refund from Hotels.com). the hotel needs to have better service. The refund from hotels.com was easy and service on there side great."
