"Pros. Quiiet and comfortable. Easy parking and appreciated welcome for dogs. Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Cons Room stuffy (although it was a very hot night). Would have appreciated some forced ventilation/air conditioning. Did provide small fan though."

"St Ives is a nice place, it still has a tradition, no chain, department store for goodness sake. The Golden Lion is a good base to explore from. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bar and restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, really nice. Would I stay again? Yes, most definitely."

"Everything about this hotel was stellar. The room, gardens, restaurant, staff, and location were absolutely outstanding. I absolutely plan to return. Not a negative, but to be informative, I am 6’3”, and most historic structures were designed for much shorter people. That said, I only had to duck my head a couple of times. It will not impact in any way my decision to return. Couldn’t have been happier. "
