"A great value for money hotel, room was clean and comfortable, the whole building is really warm, so be prepared,! The showers are far to hot for me, but my friend loves them, so its a personal thing, but they dont really go any cooler than Moulton Lava! Breakfast was amazing value for money and exceptionally tasty, the staff are all friendly and helpful. "We had a great 6 day stay at the Damson Dene. All the staff are super friendly. Had a couple of SPA treatments with Sharon, they were amazing and so reasonable priced. The food in the hotel was superb. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meals were delicious. The only issue we had was with housekeeping. Over the six days we were there they only made up our room twice. Once we did put the "do not disturb" up as my husband wasn't feeling great. I had to request for them to go in on...

"Beautifully located with views over lake and hills. Great manor house wooded interior with a maze of landings and hallways. Decorated in a great jumble of styles. Breakfast was excellent, served and cooked well. Room was clean and well maintained. Definitely would return. Grumps…no wifi on top bedrooms. Heating was controlled centrally and was chilly."

"We enjoyed a quiet weekend in the Lake District in the Castle Inn conveniently located near Keswick. The hotel is comfortable and in the late stage of being upgraded; this was happening in the background and did not impact nor disturb. I did feel the staff were a bit thin on the ground; however, they could not have been more friendly or helpful, they really made us feel welcome. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay."

"Lovely old pub. The rooms great and clean but the beds were a bit bumpy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On the first night, I had belly pork, which was very tender and tasty. The second night I had a burger, but it was dry. All in all, it was a great break"

"Parking spaces very tight. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Food superb and plenty of it (although a bit pricey). Room lacking fridge and windows painted shut except one the kept closing when opened. Bed comfy. Bathroom well apppointed although basin was very low. Had to stoop to use it. Hotel well maintained and was very good."
