Bahia del Sol Beach Front Boutique Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"People there are excellent! I will definitely come back here again. The A/c unit went out the last day of our stay. They try to accommodate us the newt they could. Unfortunately we’re unable to fix it but is one of those things that sometimes we have to be flexible. The hotel manager was awesome, the maintenance ce personnel great people."

JW Marriott Guanacaste Beach Resort
4/10 Poor
"Hotel was not equipped to handle this level of guests especially during this particular week. Room wasn’t ready until 5 pm. Waited for bags for another 45 mins but no one came to help. Restaurants were all booked up. Beds were not comfortable. If it was not for some of the very friendly and hard working staff members, I would have given it the lowest rating. We decided to check out a day early inspite of not getting a refund. For the price you pay, this property is not worth it. One of the worst JW properties. "

In the Shade Hotel - Coworking - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Pool was refreshing, fridge in the room. Friendly staff, air conditioning work well, no breakfast, one overhead light did not work.
We recommend the property"

Hotel Arco Iris
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here as a couple in Room 15 (second-floor corner), and the view alone made it worth it—beautiful scenery right from the room. There is AC in the rooms!
The hotel is tucked away in a quiet spot but still central to everything, which was perfect. You can escape the noise when you want, but you’re never far from restaurants, bars, or the beach. We visited during March Break—aka the American “Spring Break”—and while the town was lively, the hotel felt like our little peaceful hideout (a big win if you’re not trying to party 24/7 😄).
The property itself is very clean and has a quaint, boutique feel. It’s smaller, so you don’t get overwhelmed with crowds—which honestly made it even better for a relaxing stay.
Henry at reception was fantastic—super friendly and always happy to help with anything. They also offer laundry service every morning for $5 USD/kg, and we usually had it back the same day if we dropped it off early.
Breakfast is served from 7:00–9:00 AM and was consistently amazing. There are about 5 options, but they’re very accommodating. We had everything from sourdough with avocado and eggs to yogurt bowls with homemade granola and fresh fruit, and omelettes with fruit—everything was fresh and delicious.
There’s also a small pool with both shaded and unshaded lounge chairs, perfect for relaxing.
The beach is about a 7 minute walk. Since we went during high season, it was quite busy, and renting a chair costs around $25–30 USD depending on who you ask.

Zulu Surf Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Air con was great felt like a fridge in our room. However we stayed for 7 days and after 5th day has to request room cleaning. Should be done at least every 3 days. "

Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I had a wonderful stay at Ten North Tamarindo. As a solo traveler, I found it absolutely perfect. I booked a one-bedroom; it was charming, comfortable, and had everything I needed.
During my stay, I met a lovely family who were staying in the two-bedroom apartment, and it seemed to have plenty of space for parents and three young adults. That made it clear to me that the property works well for different types of travelers.
The pool area was ideal for relaxing with a good book and cooling off with a swim. I also loved that they had a small bookshelf in the front office with a nice variety of books for guests to enjoy. The staff were lovely and very patient with me as I practiced my Spanish with them.
I didn’t include breakfast with my stay, but it looked and smelled delicious. The location was also excellent, situated between Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta and walking distance of restaurants, nightlife, a yoga studio, grocery stores, and shops.
Overall, Ten North Tamarindo was charming, comfortable, and ideally located. I would definitely recommend it, especially for solo travelers, couples, or families looking for a relaxed and convenient place to stay."

The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa
6/10 Okay
"La comida muy rica, para el turista local muchos del staff los que se encargan de realizar las actividades de piscina y la mayoria de bartenders tienen un trato muy diferenciado si es extranjero a si es Costarricense, el staff se conoce el negocio que es turismo, pero si es turista local, piénselo, no lo hacen sentirse a gusto o no le dan el trato y la calidad de bebidas como si fuera extranjero. Los saloneros de los restaurantes sí son excelentes."

Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo
8/10 Good
"Great resort for families. Beach was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Pool was perfect for my kids, with three different shallow areas where they could play. The resort yacht tour was amazing and easily a highlight of the stay. We did the morning snorkel to Honeymoon Beach and it felt like a private tour. Easily accessible to see wildlife in nearby places. "
