"The property is BEAUTIFUL. Friendly staff. For the basic rate you have your own private cottage. Great price. Centrally located to most attractions. There are large gaps in the doors and windows and you are in a tropical setting, so creepy crawlers can get in. It is important to know there are no TVs in these rooms and no refrigerators, but they were able to upgrade me to have same for an additional fee. Free classes (yoga, etc) you can register for and free breakfast at restaurant in hotel...not bad! Also has vegan options. "

Alfredo at the front desk is the most helpful person alive—always going above and beyond. Andrew and Joe greet you with genuine smiles that instantly lift your spirits. Alexander bounces around with endless energy and a big “pura vida” smile, handling everything swiftly. Branden takes incredible care of our room, keeping it perfect. Elias at the pool bar is as friendly as can be. Roger, looking like a movie star, pops up everywhere with his infectious smile. Bayran provides excellent driving service. Johnathan and Samuel zip us around effortlessly from beach to pool and beyond. Thank you all—the heart of Makanda. Pura vida!"

"Such an amazing hotel, saw monkeys and a sloth while having breakfast. Only staying here when I come back to Costa Rica! Andres, Joseph, and everyone were so amazing and helpful! Food was also five stars!!!"

"The food was great, all the staff were amazing, especially Johnathan! Only suggestion would be a mini fridge in the room and maybe a tv but not a big deal at all. Would recommend the place for sure! "
