"Gorgeous setting, incredible sunsets, friendly staff. We loved looking out from our balcony or the infinity pools onto the bioreserve jungle below. We had an upper floor room (#9) right next to a tree that regularly had birds and howler monkeys coming through. Very peaceful. Spacious room. The food and drinks are at US resort-level prices, and there are no other places to eat within a 15-minute walk, so plan accordingly. "The room was wonderful and bright. The staff did an amazing job at cleaning it and keeping it fresh. the entirety of the gilded iguana staff was kind and helpful. the breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of good eat options. the whole resort was well air conditioned and we never felt hot for a second while in our room. The kids club is amazing and the pool is pristine and the perfect temperature. and it is only a five minute walk away from a stunning beach. i definitely recommend the...

"For the money, ESH is a great deal. Very upscale, quiet, and the entire staff will accommodate every need or request at all times. It’s not on the coast, but rather up the hill about 5 minutes from town and the beach. Town is a happening place whereas ESH is simply peaceful. Best of both worlds. "

"Was a bit disappointed with our stay here. I’d read that the rooms were a bit dated, but it was rundown in aspects as well. The window in our bathroom had a broken hinge, the towels were old and tattered, the faucet discoloured, but the worst part was the bugs in the room. There was an ant (?) infestation - they’d burrowed a few holes into the bathroom doorframe and they were coming in and out of them and we found them in various places around the room. There were other various bugs we found...

However, There are two locations for this hotel. one is near the main road - that is where the pool is and it is a small pool so we didn't end up using it. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the beach area which was as advertised. Excellent breakfast included. Staff were great. It is a small town so easy access to everything."

"This hotel is truly the best of the best! I came with 3 friends and we stayed in a Vista Double Suite with 2 king beds. The hotel staff were an absolute dream. By the end of our trip they felt like family. Every time we sat down fresh glasses of ice water were brought to us. They were so attentive to all of our needs.
