"Staff offered a “free upgrade” to a junior suit, we had to wait an extra hour and a half for our room to be ready. When we got given our room the room did not look like pictures at all. Yes it was bigger but the “upgraded” room was outdated, dirty, and to be honest creepy. It was like the rest of the hotel had been refurbed apart from this room, it was hidden away down one of the corridors. "We loved our stay at Rila! It was the best location for the slopes & we loved the huge variety of food we were offered for breakfast and dinner! We loved the surprise of having a live singer in the lounge downstairs after dinner, it was a lovely addition to some of our evenings! "Old hotel - feels like going back to the 70s. Tired and needs a major renovation. Very basic guest rooms, entertainment and breakfast restaurant. 2-3 star. Usually reserved and minimal friendliness staff. Functional without any wow!"

"The rooms were very clean. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us call and book local Bulgarian restaurants. The hotel is located next to a convenient metro stop and we were easily able to get around the city. "
