"The hotel looked fairly new and outside and inside were extremely clean and modern. It is one of the new minimal types of hotels. There is plenty of parking that was very well lit. The desk clerk, Dede, was very pleasant and efficient. The lobby offers 24 hour coffee and tea. She told us about the Hometown Grill that is in walking distance and offers a discount for guests. We arrived on a Sat evening and the restaurant had a steak and seafood buffet for $18.99 (think Golden Corral type food)....

"Bathroom was immaculately clean. Safety suggestion: shower floor is so smooth that it was slippery, and there was no grab bar or anything for safety. Bed and most surfaces clean. Upholstered chair and ottoman appeared shabby and were peeling a bit, didn't look as clean or nice as rest of the room. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast choices included eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. "

"Location was great, right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to take screenshots of your check-in code before arriving as there’s spotty Wi-Fi so we couldn’t even call the host. We drove down the road until we got LTE bars on cell phone and then we could check in. Bed was comfy, shower good. Lots of privacy; didn’t hear the neighbors in the cabin next to Dripping Rock. "Our keys virtually never worked…we had to have them fixed every time we left the room, and we were the furthest room from the front desk possible (we had to drive over to the office or walk a 1/4 mile)."

"The biggest advantage of this hotel is that it's 5-10 min. walking distance from downtown and Mary Baldwin University and that it is less expensive than other nearby hotels. Room was of a decent size. It had microwave, small fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer which which was very useful. It also had a coffee maker, but I didn't use it.
