Perfect!

Spent 3 wonderful nights here, and the staff took great care of us. Hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes away by foot to the main old town area. Definitely will stay here when visiting Shangrila again, highly recommended!

The front desk staff was very customer friendly and went an extra mile by driving me to the nearby pharmacy to buy medicine for my constipation upon my arrival. I really appreciate her kind consideration and work ethic.

Personalet var fantastisk søde og hjælpsomme, men at finde hotellet inde i Old Town var forfærdeligt. Adressen herinde på Hotels.com var ifølge Google Maps til deres anden afdeling, og min taxa chauffør kunne ikke snakke engelsk. Han satte mig ved Old Town, og jeg var meget forvirret hvor jeg var henne. Heldigvis hjalp en politimand mig, hvor jeg fandt ud af at hotellet havde et andet navn på Apple Maps! Ellers var hotellet meget i stil med kulturen i Shangri-La. Værelset var indrettet efter Tibetan stil, men det var en smule koldt og mørkt værelse for min smag. Lokationen var perfekt, hvis man ønsker at være centralt i Old Town.

Quiet and peaceful boutique hotel

A wonderful quiet, peaceful, small boutique hotel. Very friendly service and excellent location in Old Town Shangri-La. It requires a short walk from the drop-off point because cars are not allowed in the alley where the entrance is located. The cobblestone street/alley makes luggage a challenge, but the staff will come out if notified to assist. The complimentary breakfast is not lavish, but had everything I needed...both Asian and Western. Rooms are clean and decorated in traditional ethnic style. WiFi is good. The deck offers a nice view of the neighboring temple.

Warmth of an Inn, Luxury of a 4 Star Hotel

The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Tibetan style. Hotel rooms are all centered around a pavilion. The staff is very friendly: they will walk you to places in the old city if you ask, arrange for taxis, recommend activities to do. They do a lot of small things that add up and make your experience very elegant. Food is clean but it is not up to Western standards--I'm used to eating Chinese cuisine, so I'm not bothered by this. They do have Western cuisine, but they are not many options. Hotel is located in a good area with lots of shops and a few temples nearby.

Special Hotel in the middle of the Old Town

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Arro Khampa as the location allows you to return for a break while exploring the old town and to warm up in the floor heated room or with a cup of tea and cookies always offers by the friendly staff. We would absolutely recommend anybody to stay there when visiting Shangri-La!

Very near old town

Too bad the town lost so much during the 2014 fire. You can still feel the tragic loss of buildings, so during our stay, their was still lots of construction happening. I am glad they are able to rebuild and they certainly need more tourism to help them with that so don't avoid the area, their is lots to see and do and we had a wonderful time.

Exceptional accommodations. Clean and Comfortable

The staff was courteous, attentive and thoughtful. They did everything possible to insure my comfort. They even brought a humidifier to my room when they became aware of my lips and nose being dry. Everything I ate there was delicious. I felt safe and well taken care of the whole time I was there. Everything is high quality and attention to small details meets highest standards
