"Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. "Property is very old. Our room was completely lopsided so wouldn’t be good for someone with mobility issues. Needs a bit of spruce up as the photos don’t show the property’s current condition. Carpets need replacing and flooring in bathroom had cracked tiles. Very quiet though and couldn’t hear the noisy pubs around which were playing loud music with noisy shouting in the gardens. "Excellent 10 out of 10. Our 3 day Xmas period stay with our dog was from arrival absolutely superb. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful; the room was warm, comfortably and clean. The food throughout our stay was excellent with a menu to suit everyone and the Xmas lunch was fantastic. This is definitely a place to revisit."
