"The Brandon Inn is one of my favorite places to stay. The location is great, with 2 outstanding taverns/pubs, a breakfast/lunch diner brewery and a fine dining resturant all within a 2 minute walk. The Inn itself is outstanding. With the historic ambiance, antique furniture and artifacts through out the halls and rooms, and the renovation and preservation of what the Inn was like 200 years ago, it is truly a trip back through time. "We spent two weeks traveling New England. Focusing on VT, Maine & RI. 5 days were spent at the Mad River Lodge. Although all the places we stayed were all very nice - none of them left us with the feeling of home away from home like MRL did. The main lobby and opportunity to meet other travellers was very enjoyable. The whole place felt peaceful and homey and would absolutely stay there again."
