"A lovely place but unfortunately let down by rude staff, bad room placement and broken air conditioning. There was a wedding taken place and the music went on into the night, between this and the broken air conditioning, our young baby was disturbed through the night. We contacted Gary the nightporter who was helpful and explained they knew it was an issue and to raise it with management the following day. We contacted management by email in the end as no one was available the following day. I was contacted by Vicky, who did offer a tokenistic 20% off on future bookings but implied I had lied about all issues and failed to respond when I queried her approach. Really disappointing, at over £200 a night - we got no sleep and our baby really didn’t enjoy the next day owing to his discomfort in the night. A real shame that it could have been resolved so easily with effective customer service and a kind manner."

"Absolutely Terrible avoid . 2200 hours a male member of staff entered our room whilst we were in bed , nearly called Police . Lift permantly broken . Room cleaned once in 8 days Had to ask for clean Towels . Shower water only tepid . No remote for TV asked for another , that was broken ,fixed it myself . Dont bother with it ."

"The first room I went to had been half cleaned, had a cuppa soup remains in a a cup, no toilet paper, and someone’s bra and pants hanging on the chair. But the staff were friendly and nice and changed our room and this was better for the price you pay! Ample tea and coffee, towels, 2 pillows each. The building was very shabby and could do with updating but the location was great it was quiet! Would recommend if you needing a bed for the night!"

"This is the second time I've stayed here in recent months. Staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. The biggest highlight for me are the rooms. The first time I stayed I walked into my room to find aircon, a separate seating area with a table and the room was huge!! I thought they'd upgraded me and forgotten to tell me. The last time was the same, not quite as big a room as last time but plenty big enough. I think they need to update their photos on Hotels.com as they just don't do the actual rooms justice and it might put people off staying there. I was nervous the first time I arrived as the pictures of the rooms made them look REALLY dated, but they're not, they're exceptional!"

"Great stay, really friendly staff, good breakfast mushrooms were particularly great. We used swimming pool and steam room which were tired but great to use. "

"Bar menu was very limited & the dining room was closed. The room was poor even though it was supposed to be an ‘executive double .’ I really don't think the room had been serviced correctly after the previous guest . I needed to ask for a clean duvet cover. That says it all. However , the receptionist was very pleasant and very helpful. Apparently the hotel is due to be refurbished & in my humble opinion that cant come soon enough . Great view though !! "

"Hotel was stoplessly clean. Check in quick and easy. Room was spacious, and again spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable and breakfast the next day was delicious Highly recommend 5 stars from me."
