"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool...

"A stunning view of the Douro valley. We had an excellent dinner. One needs to make reservations beforehand to eat there. There is nowhere else in the area to dine. We were not given a dinner option however, the roast beef dinner was excellent as well as the dessert. The car ride up is a bit sketchy because it’s a VERY narrow to lane road winding up a Mt !! However the view makes the trip most worthwhile. Bedroom was nicely decorated and comfy. "

Superbe endroit pour la détente et le resourcement
"Cet endroit est tout simplement magnifique. Un peu difficile à trouver car c'est vraiment au milieu de nulle part mais rendu sur place, c'est un vrai havre de paix. L'endroit est entretenu à la perfection. On peut profiter de la piscine, de la petite rivière et des sentiers situés autour. Le chalet qu'on avait était magnifique et très confortable avec l'air climatisé. Le 2e lit escamotable est aussi très confortable. La cuisine est petite mais fonctionnelle et nous avons réussi à nous cuisiner un bon souper. Il faut compter un bon 15 minutes de voiture pour aller à l'épicerie. Le déjeuner inclus était exquis. On a vraiment vécu quelque chose de spécial à cet endroit. Avoir su, nous aurions réservé plus d'un soir."
