Quaint hotel for a family stay with friendly staff
The hotel was great for our family, convenient parking to leave our car for the weekend and close to the tram to take into the city for all the Christmas markets. The hotel was basic, but clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was good. Perfect for an affordable stay outside the city center.

Friendly to the whole family
We had a lovely little overnight here with our dog & two yo in tow. The setting was ideal within an easy walking distance to the river and on the strip with lots of shops, parking was easier than originally thought, recommend calling ahead for details on the lot location. Breakfast setting was beautifully laid out in the unique and historic ground floor- food was relatively standard.

The hotel is very simple, although tidy. Breakfast is OK. It is really possible to find something better for that money.

Poor hotel, GREAT staff!
Room was very uncomfortable. There were almost no food options in walking distance. Staff was SUPER and that was the only reason we stayed.

Cologne Hotel
This hotel was excellent , well positioned about 5 mins walk from the tram stop with frequent connections to the City Centre, some 25 mins away. It is also about 5 mins walk away from the River. I had a good clean and spacious room , with an excellent buffet breakfast and the staff were more than helpful.

I arrived late and didn't jhave the chance to spend a lot of time in the hotel. Very interesting location with shops, bars and restaurants around. Very big rooms. Good breakfast selection. Very weak wi-fi signal.

Just Ok
In main commercial street with shops and some restuarants close by. Close to the river Rhine and there is a great park area to walk in nearby. My room overlooked the street which made is a bit noisy. Room was pretty basic and clean. Taxi from the aiport didnt know where it was, so be sure to keep the address handy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel (correct name Hotel Gertrudenhof). The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I knew all about the city and the sights to see. The breakfast was excelent and even better - included in the price

Matige accommodatie maar de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is wel reëel. Wij hadden met zijn drieën een 3-persoonkamer geboekt maar hadden helaas een 3e bijzet bed (dit lijkt op de website 3 volwaardige bedden). Ontbijt matig, weinig keuze en de ontbijtzaal is te klein als iedereen tegelijk komt ontbijten. Parkeren achter het hotel prima. Ook late incheck was prima en vooraf goed geregeld. Vriendelijke eigenaar. Op loopafstand genoeg restaurantjes en wat winkels, 15-20 min rijden van de Dom.

Unter dem hängenden Nachttisch ist noch eine weitere, die man leider nicht so gut sieht. Hinweisschilder dafür sind in Anfertigung. Bei der Einrichtung der Zimmer hatte man noch nicht geahnt, mit wieviel Ladegeräten wir einmal rumlaufen werden...

Soggiorno abitualmente in questo hotel, anche se situato a pochi km dal centro è ben servito dal trasporto pubblico. Hotel con ambienti gradevoli, camere confortevoli, personale cordiale.

Komme gerne wieder
Das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen - es dauert 5 Minuten bis das warme Wasser kommt, Einhebelmischer, W-Lan ein bischen langsam, aber ein tolles Frühstück, großer Fernseher, tolle Lage und viel Platz und freundliches Personal. Ich komme wieder

"Alt" stimmt, "in die Jahre gekommen" klingt so abwertend. WLAN hat 800 Mbit, ins Internet geht's mit 50 Mbit.

I do recommend it in case of working days the parking is sadly expensive and they do not consider their guest in this matter

Thank you for your comment. We don't think that our parking is expensive. Public parking is at least 1,50 EUR per hour, which means our parking is equivalent to six hours of parking and competes witha fine of at least 10-15 EUR without a parking ticket on public streets...

Leider gibt es entgegen der Hotelbeschreibung keine Klimaanlage. Im Zimmer sehr heiß und da Zimmer zur Hauptstraße mit offenem Fenster extrem laut. Schlechte Parksituation für Transporter. Faire Preise bei Minibar und gutes Frühstück

Okay, aber etwas überteuert.
Das Zimmer war sehr klein. Die Dusche eigentlich eine Badewanne. Manches schien in die Jahre gekommen. Es war aber alles sauber und das Personal war freundlich. Insgesamtxfanden wir aber das Preis-LeistungsVerhältnis nicht ganz angemessen.

Die Größe unserer Zimmer entsprechen DEHOGA-Standard für ***-Hotels. Leider sind wir kein Kettenhotel, daß meist mit mehr qm aufwarten kann. Daß wir Duschbadewannen haben, steht in der Beschreibung. Sind natürlich nicht so leicht zu betreten wie Flachbodenduschen. Danke. Ihr Empfinden. Können wir nicht kommentieren.

Schönes Zimmer und guter Service - leider ist doch einiges an der Ausstattung (vor allem das Bad) etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Verglichen mit anderen Hotels in und um Köln hätte ich ein Zimmer bei diesem Gesamtniveau etwas 20 Prozent billiger erwartet.

Vielen Dank für Ihre Beurteilung. Wir wissen um den Zustand der Bäder. Wir haben das Hotel gepachtet, so daß es sehr schwierig ist, den Eigentümer von der Notwendigkeit der Renovierung zu überzeugen - ein dem Standard entsprechender Neubau kostet voraussichtlich 8000,- Euro. Mal 22 Zimmer...

Longe, mas acabou dando certo.
Hotel é bem bom. Localização é que surpreendeu, muito longe do centro histórico, mas a três quarteirões dá pra pegar a linha 16 do trem, que te leva até a Catedral de Colônia. Café da manhã do hotel é razoável. Pessoal muito simpático e educado.

Alles in allem sauber, freundliches Personal, wir haben kurzfristig ein großes Zimmer bekommen, ohne Aufpreis. Die Temperatur des Duschwassers schwankte stark, außerdem müssten die Amaturen dringend mal erneuert werden, sowie der Duschkopf. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, aber es gibt nur eine Sorte Brötchen, keine Vollkornbrötchen etc.

Vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar. Über die Badezimmer diskutieren wir schon lange mit dem Eigentümer - wissen wir. Teurere Brötchen gibt es bei teureren Preisen (Messe), ansonsten bieten wir neben Schnittbrötchen Vollkornbrot, Weizenmehlgraubrot, Toast, Vollkornknäckebrot und Zwieback - da sollte für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei sein. Auf Wunsch organisieren wir auch glutenfrei. Das "Altbackene" ist die Anfang der 1950er montierte Holzverschalung in unserem Frühstücksrestaurant oder meinten Sie etwas anderes?

"Aufgehübscht" ist aber hübsch gesagt. Das Investitionsvolumen je Zimmer sieht uns eher nach "deutlicher Qualitäts-steigerung" aus... Freut uns, daß Sie zufrieden sind.

Kleines Hotel in unmittelbarer Rheinnähe
Ich war aus beruflichen Gründen eine Woche in Köln. Auch der von mir mitgeführte Hund wurde sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Hotel bietet eine umliegend gute Infrastruktur, Nähe zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und die unmittelbare Nähe zum schönsten Teil des Rheinufers in Köln.
