Had an enjoyable stay. Refurbished rooms are very nice and ours had patio type doors Older areas are looking tired but that will probably be temporary until complete refurb is done. Would stay again.

Room came with no pillows, the water from the shower was cold the entire time we were there, on arrival the front desk staff seemed rude to us. Alongside this even though I had paid before arrival I was asked to pay a pre-auth charge of 2.5 times the amount of the cost of the room even though this wasn’t stated anywhere before I arrived.

A lovely hotel with great helpful staff!! The hotel was nice and clean and not too far from shops, restaurants and bars!! Would recommend this hotel for a lovely weekend!! Also do weddings there

Fine and a reasonable cost for 2 nights and close to where we wanted so it did the job. Apparently hotel has just been refurbished but looks like reception and maybe just the floor we were on. Corridor was very dark and cold, bedroom doors closed very noisily and no ‘do not disturb’sign to use as we didn’t want our room serviced for just 2 nights. Kettle and /tea ok room but no fridge. Staff all very nice. Surrounding building will take a while to do up but fine for a night or 2.

Stayed in a renovated room and was absolutely lovely. Check in/out staff were lovely. Took a little while for staff member to check me in at breakfast but a lot of hot options available. Overall a great stay

It’s currently being refurbished which I was told about, there is no phone in the room and I didn’t want to get dressed in the night to walk all the way to reception to complain about the party going on next door. They were still partying away at 6.40 am when I vacated the room without a winks sleep all night.

Booked a deluxe room ended up being put in a family room. When going down to reception to resolve this issue they was very rude and demanded i waited till the following morning to change rooms. Finally got put into one of the deluxe rooms during the afternoon of the next day to find the rooms window was split in half which made the room really cold and the heating did not work. Staff were very rude. Upon emailing the hotel regarding the stay with pictures of the room and the experience ive been waiting just over a week for a response

Very nice for a very reasonable rate
Great staff, really friendly and helpful. It was cold in the main lobby, but the rooms were nice and warm. They were also clean and well-presented. Evening food was nice and they had a good selection of drinks available at the bar.

I had booked for a week, stay the first night woke in the morning fresh and ready for my work,hotel and staff absolutely amazing. Due to family emergency I had to leave to go home, hotel staff were unbelievably helpful I had to cancel the rest of my stay.. then it went completely downhill trying to contact hotel.com for a refund, 5 nights of refund, you can’t get hold of them in anyway shape or form fill in all the details on a request form, still haven’t received anything zero correspondence.. it has totally ruined my faith in online services that hotel.com provided absolute zero support.. so for me I would strongly advise anyone to give hotel.com a wide birth… absolute nightmare to deal with

Avoid is my recommendation!!!!! The place was damp , smelly and could never find a member of staff . Had a booking for 2 nights was locked out of the room with my things still inside. The room was not serviced, bed not made etc . Ordered a drink from bar , pumps were showing but glass was taken out of sight , to fill it , probably from a can and then was charged an extortionate sum for it .

Had this property booked for 1 night. When we arrived the disabled bay had pallets of what looked like boxes in it. Once parked further from reception, we walked round. The main entrance doors appeared to be set on open (temperature outside was 2⁰c) with the door open at the other end of the foyer, this caused a through draft (2⁰c outside and inside) Checked in and was told keycard coding machine wasn't working so a member of staff would escort us up and allow us access to room (not ideal) In the room just a few moments we heard fire works going outside, having a look out we noticed that there was a fault with the window, held closed by a small metal hook (2⁰c outside) Went to reception to report the issue and stop at the bar for a drink. Staff at reception said they'd look into the issue with window. Stood at the bar (other couples waiting also) when a member of staff informed us that the bar wouldn't be open and couldn't tell us when it would be! Large Diwali celebration happening in function room and all staff seemed focused on that. Made to feel like we didn't matter. With this we'd made the decision to leave the hotel as nothing was not as described on the website. 2 very unhappy guests.

Building site not hotel
The hotel was a building site, we stayed as wanted to use the spa facilities which are closed (even though it says will be reopened by October 2023 on welcome message) and asked about parking etc due to being disabled and we was advised upon arrival (trying to converse to a man who struggles to both speak and understand English) we found out there was no lift and we was staying up two flights of stairs when asking about a lift was told there wasn’t any and no rooms on ground floor level so we was left to struggle with luggage up the stairs.

Rooms in need of an refresh, Ironing board broken, handing rail bent. Could hear noise from scare feet next door. Due to referb in reception/lobby , it Currently has temperature reception and dining, so menu was minimum. Waited nearly an hour for food, restaurant staff couldn’t apologise enough.

For what i needed it was fine. Just expensive then to pay for breakfast on top...wow. Got there later after a full day at work, needed to be up and out of the room early so wanted to grab a quick bite to eat in the restaurant. There was literally 2 other tables waiting for food and ours took over 40 minutes to bring 3 meals out. The Boy behind the bar did NOT look any older then 16 and was serving Alchol, He didnt even know how to make my order? How is this acceptable? Beds where nice and clean. However the shower/bath edge was very mouldy Also no soap in the toliet...what areyou meant to wash your hands with... what hotel doesnt have had soap in each room! Little disappointed with my stay

Really excellent value and nice staff
The hotel is being refurbished so there was a temp reception desk in the dining room and we had to use the back stairs. Also the pool and other facilities were out of action. I think this is why the price was so reasonable. The room and beds were comfortable and the breakfast was really good. The menu prices were very good value (£9-14 for a main course), although we didn't actually have dinner there so don't know if dinner is as good as breakfast. Only complaint was neither of the usb charging points in the room worked but the reception staff were v helpful and found me an adapter to use a normal socket. The hotel is def due an update as the bathroom in particular looks quite tired and outdated and there's no room thermostat or anything fancy like that but the shower worked well and everything was v clean. Lovely lake at the front. I think when the refurb is finished the prices may go up, but at current prices, this is unbeatable value.

DO NOT STAY at this hotel. They should not be accepting guests in it's current condition! Everything looks delapidated and broken. It is like a building site. My daughter and I stayed one night instead of two we had booked, could not wait to get out of the place. It is a total joke. No facilities, it is an empty shell, the photos on the expedia website are totally misleading. We could hear every single noise from nextdoor, dodgy inter connecting door, unclean room, windows do not shut properly. Just awful.

The pictures u see when u book look nothing like them i know they having a reception refit but the rooms are cold dirty i have someone's clothes left in the drawers the menu was very limited and the pie i had looked like a Hollands pie u get from a local shop for a couple of quid i wont be going again very disappointed only booked as the pics show a very nice place its really run down

It was still under renovation at the time of our visit so it was rather like a building site. The staff were super friendly though and the bar prices were good. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Our room was of adequate size and very clean I'm sure when the renovations are complete the hotel will be back to its former self. Will be back 😊

I haven’t slept all night, because there was no bed. I booked a Roman that offered 2 double beds and I spent the night in the car with my dad. The room was disgusting I have a video I can share. It is despicable the curtains were broken so no privacy. I am pregnant and I am in tears right now. It is my brother’s engagement today and I am a total wreck. You MUST REMOVE THIS property from your website it is a crime under any law to have a paying guest at a property and not be able to provide human essentials , the shower is broken the tap is running brown and yellow water and there was no bed. If that’s not bad enough there were bugs, snails in the room . Yukk I not only want a full refund plus compensation I want this place to close down. I am calling the health inspectors.
