"We stayed 3 nights in a bleak February. The weather was bad, but the room was warm and cosy. The dining hall was shut, but a continental breakfast was laid out on the landing and a small table and chairs provided in the room. Cooked breakfast was available for a small extra fee, but we didn't feel we needed one. When I finally got in, the room was okay but lacked basic in‑room amenities—there were no cups or kettle, as these are kept in a separate kitchen, which was sparsely stocked. Although I knew the bathroom was shared, I was surprised there was no sink in the room.
