This motel is in a great location for walking around Bryson City. The staff that we interacted with were kind and helpful. Our room was good with enough space to move around and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was relatively updated but kind of small and I can't imagine a larger person being able to get into the shower. And there was no way to just have the light on without the noisy fan. All in all though it was a good affordable place to stay while we explored the area.
Room was very clean, check in and out was easy, location was ideal. Wifi worked and had plenty of TV channels. Shower was a little small but that was the only negative, pretty minor.
When we checked in, the owner was friendly enough but when I complained about the condition of our mattress after our second night, he and his wife became angry and tried to tell us the worn out mattress was new even though it was very obvious it wasn't.
We paid a lot of money for our 3 night stay... $670, almost twice the "normal" rate. We were told the last week of October was more expensive and I was fine with the charge had the room been acceptable. One side of the bed was ok but the other side was worn out and we had to sleep toward the middle of the bed to keep from rolling off the edge.I was only able to get about 4 hours sleep because it was so uncomfortable and the following night, my wife tried to sleep on the worn out side and had the same miserable experience.
I asked the owners if they could possibly reimburse us a little because of the mattress and they insisted nothing was wrong with it and refused to do anything about it. I asked the husband to please come to the room so I could show him what we were talking about but he refused and kept saying it was brand new and he doesn't need to see what we were dealing with. We ended up leaving a night early because it was so uncomfortable and we weren't credited at all for the problem.
The room was extremely small...barely enough room to squeeze by the sink to get in the shower and no room at the sink for toiletries. Patched holes on the walls that weren't painted and "stink" bugs crawling on the walls. Avoid it!
Don’t do it! The rooms are in desperate need of updating. You have to stand at the bathroom sink sideways, otherwise your butt will hit the wall. Not enough electrical outlets for chargers. Furniture is old. A lot of traffic noise at night.
The parking area was excellent. We had a spot right outside of our room. The staff was excellent.. The AC was excellent. Everything was in walking distance to our motel.
Just. Don’t. Do. It. It’s worth it to drive to Birmingham or stay back in Meridian,
The only good think I can say is our beds were clean and there was a roof over our head. The office staff was polite enough. Like someone else, I had to show my confirmation on the app, but they had no idea we were coming at 11pm. Apparently she had an issue with housekeeping earlier and the coverlet covers weren’t ready. She showed me a room for my approval and I said it would be fine. Upon further inspection once our stuff was in, I noticed the lampshade was torn, there were no towels, no tissues. Glad I didn’t look further around after reading others reviews. I had asked about breakfast at check in, and basically got the drift that there was no breakfast.
My standards are not very high, but this has to be, hands down, the worst place I’ve ever stayed.
And apparently the rate I got online was higher than everyone else’s 52$

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Practically all the hotels in this area are 2 star facilities. Relax Inn was clean, no issues with the beds, slept well. The bathroom was clean and had ample towels. I didn't use the mini fridge or microwave and coffee pot. It was an easy check in & out. No major issues.
Many thanks to the owner & his very well kept property. You were the kindest owner we've met thusfar.
Your accomodations were clean & in walking distance to the train & a convenient store.
I highly recommend staying at Relax Inn.

Comfortable bed and good shower. Some updates in room. Musty and stinky odor in room made it very difficult to sleep. Pricey and no breakfast. Would not stay here again.
