"Here’s a polished version suitable for a hotel review: The hotel’s advertising is misleading and does not accurately reflect the condition of the property or the amenities available. The pool was out of service, and none of the advertised amenities were available. The room was poorly cleaned and poorly maintained. The toilet clogged several times during our stay. "This is a lovely property. We’ve stayed here four times over the years and would gladly return. The basic amenities are there, and the staff has always been very kind. Two things are worth mentioning. First, there is currently construction taking place, and unfortunately it isn’t quiet. Perhaps this should be reflected in the room rates while the work continues. If this was disclosed somewhere and I missed it, I apologize. My bigger disappointment, especially as a returning guest, is the restaurant. We used to love eating here because it was convenient, affordable, and the food was excellent. Breakfast is still great and reasonably priced, but dinner has changed significantly. We had dinner twice. The first night was okay, even though we didn’t love the food. The second night was very disappointing. The tlacoyos were hard, seemed old, and were extremely simple for the $15+ price. The carnitas were also tasteless. Our other dish included steak and two enchiladas. The beans tasted as though they were close to spoiled, the enchiladas seemed like rolled tacos that had been sitting for some time, and the steak did not seem freshly prepared. It was overly seasoned and very tough. With a bottle of wine, dinner came to about $96 before tip. I understand this is a hotel restaurant in an expensive area, but at that price, the quality should be considerably better. We still really enjoy the property and would return, but next time we’ll have dinner elsewhere."
