Maybe it was because our luggage was oversized, or because we arrived in a dirty cargo vehicle instead of a luxury sedan. A similar situation happened again on another day. My friend and I were in Zhengzhou for some cycling activities, and one day we rode more than 100 km. After such a long ride, we were extremely exhausted. Because it was difficult to find a vehicle that could fit two bicycles, we had to call another cargo van to bring us back to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, the doorman approached the driver and tried to direct us to the basement for unloading. It did not feel welcoming at all.
