"This hotel is a gem in the middle of Northern Nevada’s open expanses. It is well cared for and it’s obvious the hotel income goes back into the hotel property. There is good air circulation/filtration in the casino. You don’t get slammed by the usual casino cigarette smoke. The carpets in the hotel hallways seem new and clean. Our room was clean and fresh. It also had newer carpeting. The Mexican restaurant inside the hotel was very good. It is sadly under-rated by those who visited and rated the restaurant before us. I give the restaurant a 4.25 out of 5. We’ll be staying at the Prospector once again on our drive home from Idaho."

"The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I had called and asked if this was a casino hotel and the answer was “not really”. It is a casino hotel. This means smoking is allowed in the gambling areas. Unfortunately, the smoke smell permeates everything, the check in, the bar and cafe. By morning when you leave the smoke has made it into the hallways of the room floors. "

"I checked in early and the staff were very helpfully. They first assigned to me a second floor room. I went back and told them I used a walker. So they assigned me to a first floor room. . I room they assigned me was not ready. I talked to the onsite maintenance person. He told me to tell them that another room was ready. I went back and they changed my room right away. No issues. The room was great. The staff try excellent!"

"We stayed at Rustic Inn for a couple of days in June while visiting Great Basin National Park. Our host was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were recently remodeled and nicely decorated. Everything was very clean. Ely is just over an hour drive from the park, but it’s the closest town with a decent selection of restaurants and stores."
