"Excellent breakfast"

"The hotel was updated and clean, but our water actually shut off in the middle of taking a shower. When the front desk was contacted, they claimed it was because everyone was showering at once and to be patient. Just to clarify, the water pressure wasn’t poor. There was literally no water coming out of the shower head."

"Beds were comfortable and the rooms had been updated with tile floors. AC worked fine. Ceiling tile was damaged by water in the bathroom and the outside of the hotel needs to be updated. Took forever to check in even though I had paid online and the breakfast was dismal."

"We always stay at the Gateway Hotel when visiting Ames. The location is right off highway 30 and close to ISU. We appreciate that they’re dog friendly and only charge $50 per stay, up to one week. This last stay we were disappointed that the coffee offered in the lobby was empty both mornings and it seemed the lady at the desk could not be bothered to make more. The breakfast buffet is NOT included with your stay and ,in my opinion, is not worth the cost. Go across the road to The Filling...
