"We had a great stay at this hotel in Novato. The room was spacious and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Housekeeping came every other day, which worked perfectly for us and kept everything clean and tidy. The free breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was always nearby to refill items and make sure guests had everything they needed. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. If we come back to Novato, we will definitely stay here...

"The desk clerk was not at all knowledgeable about the area as far as restaurants were concerned. He never even let us know where the breakfast area was or that there was one. The horizontal blind in our room had broken slats on one end so anybody walking buy could see in. The bath towels were sized for a child not an adult and I am only 5'4" tall."

"The big problem was checkin staff, they insisted I was not in the computer despite my copy of my confirmation number, my Real ID drivers license etc. They were impatient and incompetent, particularly in dealing with the names and paper work, and were not pleasant about it. To my shock we were basically raising our voices at each other and I was MOST uncomfortable about this.I finally did convince them of my identity, but it was a very poor experience in a very mediocre and minimal facility. "Our room had a very fowl odor of something rotten when I went to the front desk to report it and to see if we could get to a different room I was advised that that was not possible and then if I didn’t like it, I could leave and go to a different hotel they did offer a refund. On Expedia it says there is a breakfast and that is a lie. They call it a grab and go which consists of a fruit bar, or small muffin or a package of oatmeal and coffee that’s it."

"We found The Evergreen extreemly convenient and good value for money. The assistant manager and staff were very helpful in accomodating our needs. The room was clean with good quality amenities, e.g. Nespresso coffee. We will stay again."

"Area safe, clean, and walkable. The building, an upgraded 70's style hotel, had two enclosed courtyards, (one had a pool). Visitor access to the lobby computer/printer/scanner. Vending machines, snacks sold in lobby, dedicated reading area with calming music. A+ for this category hotel."

"Do NOT stay here! It was not a clean place I felt dirty the whole time. The room smelled so gross and musty. One of the pillows had dirt on it. There were stains on the carpet as well. I didn’t have a private bathroom and had to share one and being a young single woman I was scared and the booking didn’t even specify I wouldn’t have my own bathroom. The service was so bad there was only like two people working there. Save your money and book somewhere else!!!"
