Hotels near Catacombs of St. John

"I would not agree with the 4 star rating. This hotel is centrally located just outside Ortiga old town, the breakfast was good and the rooms were spacious but that is where the positives end. The hotel is tired with peeling paint in places throughout. The patio area in front of the main doors is now used to store garbage and recycling. There is no bar or restaurant despite what the website states. The experience was like a B&B. The central open-air patio has plastic furniture but without any cushions so you cannot comfortably relax anywhere but your room. I tried sitting there but it seems to be used just as a smoking location for visitors. The rooms appear to have central aircon but we were told it was not operational so the room temp was +25c by mid afternoon making sleeping very difficult. Due to the location right on the main road it is too noisy to open the windows. Very disappointing experience and would not stay again."

"The hotel is beautiful and the first night I was there I was in a really cool room with a loft. I left for a week and then came back and stayed another night. This time the room was underneath the restaurant and was super loud until well after 11 PM. But overall, it’s a lovely property and very well located."

"Friendly staff throughout. Restaurant food was top notch, fab breakfast choice. Location excellent for archeological park and museum, short 30min stroll to Ortega. Couldn’t fault it. "

"I loved this stay. Was so nice to have a kitchenette. Superb location. Staff was fantastic. Nice private terrace. Climate control worked well. Very quiet inside apartment despite being on a main street. Would absolutely stay again. "

"Great room, breakfast, and staff. Adequate parking. Not too far from the historic district. Only issue we had is that the walls everywhere are painted black and lights were barely on, so it’s difficult to see where you are going. That’s the vibe, but older people like us may have a problem. "

"Everything is great except the checking in is a bit confusing. Stuff is helpful; however, I suppose to be charged tax for 3 EUR according to Expedia, But I was requested by the staff for 6 EUR at the site. "
