"The room was very comfortable and spacious, kept very clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and there is a beautiful courtyard on the property. The breakfast is very fresh and has a wide variety of options. The hotel is located in an area with many good restaurants around, and the subway is a short walk away. "Actually, I am happy to rate this hotel 4-1/2 stars. During my 3 weeks of touring the N. Italy Lake District, we stayed in several 4 star rated hotels, but I really liked Hotel Gran Duca di York overall: the welcoming reception upon arrival, the very helpful staff, the great city central location within 10 mn of the famous Duomo, which was wonderful to retrieve to from the 90s temperatures in between my exploration walks. The room was clean and my window had a lovely view with trees. I had to...

"The room was clean and well air conditioned. My only complaint is that the bathroom is not well lit if you’re trying to do your hair or makeup. The free breakfast was incredible, and you also get a discount at the cafe next door to the hotel. The hotel is located in a great place with many shops and restaurants around it. You’re also within walking distance to the castle and duomo. The metro is close by as well. We had a great experience at this hotel!"

"Easy to get a taxi to and from main train terminal with a taxie stand right out front. Plenty of places to eat. Small kitchen allowed a quiet start by making own breakfast We walked the entire district of Milan to Duomo, last supper tour and many other beautiful buildings. Great location for exploring."

"We had a terrible experience at this hotel. When we arrived, they told us that we had reserved two rooms (we hadn’t, and we prepaid for one). They wouldn’t let us check in unless we paid for another room, which we were obviously not prepared to do. The staff was extremely rude and not at all accommodating. I was so upset that I ended up going to another hotel. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone."

"Cute little hotel in Milan, near Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie. Room was spacious and staff was super friendly. They offered a good breakfast and is also located across from a supermarket and bakery. Safe, quiet and strong AC and WiFi. Great value!"

"Great location , 10 mins walk to Duomo and 1 min walk to shopping streets and many restaurants close by. Great guest service ! Thank you Breakfast for 4 days were identical . Perhaps a little change every other day would be great for longer stay guest! "

"A beautiful hotel with the most gracious staff. Luis from the concierge service was so kind to not only guide us and tell us some amazing stories but also helped celebrate my son’s birthday by bringing him some treats. The breakfast staff were also extremely friendly and kind. Rose also made sure the kids were well fed and made them feel so special. Thank you!!"
