"The hotel is in an excellent location in old San Juan. El Morro Fort, restaurants and shopping are all close by. The hotel is beautiful but old. We had no running water or air conditioning our first day there. And no hot water our last day. The staff, especially Rachel, were very apologetic and did compensate us one night stay. The room was nice and big, but dark. We were on the ground floor in the corner of the building and could not open the large shuttered windows as we were right on the street. Being in a corner room meant we were actually on two roads which were noisy at night with people outside our windows and early in the morning with the sound of garbage trucks. The restaurant was in a beautiful enclosed courtyard, but the service was not good and the food mediocre. Avocado toast was made with avocado paste, not fresh avocados. The waitress was very inefficient and easily overwhelmed. I did go for coffee every morning and sat at the coffee bar. Alma was great and served a good cup of coffee. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar. Nothing fancy, but fun. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but if you are looking for a luxurious pampered stay, this is not for you."

"We had a really great stay overall. The hotel itself was spacious, clean, and very relaxing.. exactly what we were hoping for on this trip. A special shoutout to Carlos at the front desk, who was incredibly patient and helpful throughout our stay. He really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. There were, however, a couple of issues that impacted our experience. One day, we left the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door when we went out, but housekeeping still entered the room. While we didn’t mind that the bed was made, they unfortunately threw away some food we had been saving, as well as a couple of cups that had been gifted to us, which was disappointing.Additionally, later that same day, a staff member knocked on our door but opened it almost immediately before we had a chance to respond. After noticing we were inside, she stepped out and knocked again. She mentioned needing access to the balcony, and while we tried to be understanding, entering without waiting for permission felt like a breach of privacy. Aside from these concerns, everything else about the stay was great. The property itself is wonderful, and the staff especially Carlos, made a positive impression. With a bit more attention to guest privacy, this would have been a perfect experience."

"Clean rooms, convenient location in the heart of Old San Juan staff was very professional and very pleasant. Very cozy hotel they had a minibar at reasonable prices great for spending overnight for cruise travelers, backpack travelers and all audiences. "

"Be aware that only rooms on the front of the hotel have windows with views. Our interior room had two small windows high up near the ceiling."

"Okay so positives. The staff completely makes This hotel the best. Everyone was super helpful and nice. “D” (don’t want to post her name) works the night shift and she was such an amazing person. Very informative about the area and overall we learned so much from chatting with her. The hotel always smelled VERY clean. GREATTT location. Open bar was a plus because you need it to not think about the negatives of the hotel, which are… the room we had was scary, bed hard, just a small corner with a bed and dresser, outlets coming off the wall, balcony has no upkeep, rooftop has so much potential but no one ever cleans up there and you can tell. There is no elevator which we don’t know until the night before check-in and if we would’ve cancelled, we would’ve gotten charged! The owner needs to kiss her staff and give them a raise because they are the only reason this hotel is still running smoothly."
