Clean comfortable and very quiet. Not noticeably busy at all. Rather dated interior & no food served at the hotel. No breakfast lunches or evening meals despite notices outside saying hotel has a restaurant. It doesn’t. Nevertheless it offers reasonable comfortable sleeping accommodation and there are cafe’s & restaurants within a short distance.

There is nothing to like about this property. The rooms are very old and dated, dirty walls, the beds are lumpy, the furniture needs to be modernised. There's no soap or shower gel provided, the bathroom is also dated and infested with mosquitoes and bugs. There's no hook to hang the shower hose. The sign outside states food served all day but there no food at all ! Not even breakfast in the morning. There was only one person looking after the property and was very unprofessional, walking around bare foot and complaining about hotel booking companies. THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER STAYED AT!!!!

Good leisure facilities, a little dated
The hotel was used as it was close to the 3 peaks hike. The hotel is dated, and doesn’t serve food, but it’s only a few minutes drive into the village where there is some nice restaurants/ pubs. The bound of this place is it has a good leisure facility, with a large pool, sauna and steam room, which was definitely needed after hiking. Towels are available and it has full shower facilities also. The bedrooms are dated and some of the rooms don’t have showers, but, if you’re needing somewhere to crash for a few nights and have the leisure options, this place is absolutely fine for that. If you want modern 5 star hotel services/facilities, then this place isn’t for you, but, being in a remote village, options are limited. Overall, I would stay again, but maybe ask for a room that has a shower.

ideal for a short break
The hotel was ideally situated for walking distance into Kirby Lonsdale and a short drive to local golf courses. It was clean and comfortable with a gym and pool/spa facilities and a well stocked bar. The manager was helpful. Sadly it no longer has a open/working restaurant so food is not available. Despite this limitation, it was very convenient and acceptable hotel to which I would return to if wishing to stay in that area.

Good - Just check where you can eat!
Very clean, good shower/bath facilities and lots of hot water. Quite dated but comfortable. The restaurant was not open and had been closed for some time - there is a village nearby with options but made for a challenge on a busy Saturday night!

Disappointing
The hotel was tired and rundown. Staff not helpful or friendly. Although the restaurant was said to be closed for refurbishment there was no sign of work and seemed to be more an excuse not to serve any food. Old crisps left in drawers and cracked windows as well as poor plumbing meant it wasn’t a great stay.

The worst hotel I never stayed in it was that bad we walked out after 10 mins and booked into another hotel Which is not what you should be doing Asked for a full refund through hotels .com no pool no gym no food freezing cold bar area outdated rooms simply not acceptable as a 4 star hotel

At least the room was warm
When we arrived we were told there was no food available on site for dinner or breakfast. The health club was also closed all day Sunday, so not able to make much use of this for a weekend break. The room was warm and clean, although the bathroom door and bedroom window did not shut properly.

Whoop Hall is nice and clean and the room has everything you need with fluffy towels, tea, coffee, etc and a tv and it was lovely and warm. The lager was good in the bar (very clean too.) There’s no food available but that was fine for us. Like many hotels, staff shortages have hit hard and they are managing as best they can. Give them a break and support them.

The owner/manager was rude, abrupt. Amenities online are extremely inaccurate. No wifi. No shower head. No pool to be found as in pictures. Locked out of facility other than hall to exit door. No check out. Window wouldn't stay shut. I absolutely would not recommend this place. Expedia should not either.

Hotel was very dated and felt like the owners have given up. There market seems to be staff working away in the area, who just need a bed to sleep. Room 11 doesn't have a shower, and I was offered a shower at 7am in the health centre the next morning when I asked at reception if I could move rooms.

Pros Easy to find Parking available Swimming pool Quiet Clean Cons Rude staff No food available (05.09.2022) Main entrance is closed at Midnight Shower was very slow to warm up Dated decor This hotel would be great for families and older people as the owner closes the main door at midnight and doesnt supply guests with a key. The hotel is position right next to the main road so very easy to find and close to the town but no pavement to walk to town. The room itself was in need of modernisation and the shower was very slow to warm up. Overall i wouldnt stay in this hotel again unless it was under new management as I found the staff so rude.

Positives Friendly cleaning staff Comfortable beds Towels, shower gel, coffee provided Great location (kirkby lonsdale is a beautiful place with good bars, food etc.) Negatives I found the leisure facilty opening times frustrating as check in was at 3pm, but the facilities closed at 4, then not at all on the Sunday. No food served in restaurant.

Awful!!!
It was a joke, on the booking site it says ‘24 hour front desk’ yet apparently we had a curfew to be inside the hotel by even tho we had already checked in, we were locked out and then shouted and cussed at very rudely and aggressively and told to get the f*ck out. The hotel does not state that you are not allowed to leave the premises after a certain time, therefore we went out to celebrate a birthday but when we returned we were locked out of the hotel we had paid good money for. There was no one at front desk so ‘24hr front desk’ as stated on the site doesn’t actually exist. Over all I am very disappointed and angry with the way we were treated and will therefor never be booking this hotel again!!!

The reviews on here dont match the hotel, just stayed there with the wife and the pet dog and yes the restaurant is closed but hey ho im on a break so dont want to just eat there didnt hurt to go for food elsewhere has there was plenty to chose from. The guy in charge was gteinfky welcoming and couldnt do enough. To say this guy is doing the job of 10 people hes doing a grand job . Room was clean, no complaints, great weekend.

Abismal accommodation
To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The Whoop Hall is in desperate need of a renovation. It is a truly awful place to stay. It is very tired and dirty. The man who was supposed to be working in the bar was so rude and hostile. He needs to attend a course on customer service. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. We were ripped off!!!

I use this hotel on a regular basis bookin 2 or 3 rooms for 2 or 3 nights each time. Although on this occasion I booked on a non refundable basis, due to a family medical emergency only 2 rooms for 1 night were used (booking was 2 nights), hotel refused to allow any refund or credit towards next stay. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR REGULAR CLIENT. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Had a lovely time away. If you’re wanting to choose this location for the pool, bare in mind it is closed on Sundays and only open 10 -4 on bank holidays. Nearest shops are just over a mile away. And cannot stress this enough… PRE BOOK any restaurant you might like to visit in the near by area.

Awful stay. Don’t stay here!
It was a horrible stay. The hotel does not look like it does on the pictures. Uncomfortable bed, unclean and very disappointed. The man on the reception was very rude and when we came back from our meal at 10pm he had locked us out of the hotel and then was very annoyed at us being back so late which we didn’t think was fair and because of this we were not allowed to stay for a second night then he didn’t allow us access to the pool and also didn’t refund our money for the second night.

Thank you for your review.However please be truthful.You did not advise us you had a dog with you during your stay and left it alone in your room whilst you went out. The dog was distressed and barking. We had numerous calls from guests who were being disturbed.We tried to call you several times during the evening to return to the hotel to attend to your dog but you did not answer our calls. You upset the stay of several other guests and were drunk and rude upon your return to the hotel. All guests have complimentary use of the leisure facilities and you were not denied entry. Please be considerate of others and your pet who was clearly distressed at being left alone in an unfamiliar environment.
