Hi NeilWe are somewhat disappointed at such a low score, particularly as you have written no explanation to back up what it is well below our average review score.Clearly, if there was something you were disappointed in, or reasons why your stay fell short of your expectations but it is something that we can rectify for future guests, then we take such constructive criticism seriously.What makes you different than the thousands of previous guests that have left 10 out of 10, is a complete mystery and of no help to anybody, particularly future guests or us, in helping rectify any identified shortcomings.I appreciate that review writing is not for everybody and those who are adept at writing constructive reviews do so for a reason, not simply to make meaningless numerical scores that may hide ulterior motives..Kindest RegardsKevin

Hi Peter Many thanks for your review, clearly we need feedback so that we can act upon it but in this case, being 1.5 miles from the nearest pub (our village does not have one anymore) can be an encumbrance for some guests, but is beyond our control. We are only 4.8 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale, about 5 minutes drive, with a large number of places to eat and drink. However, I do offer a left service to and from places to eat and drink so that people can enjoy an drink and numerous guests have availed themselves of the opportunity. I am sorry that we did not fully meet your expectations although the description of the property does state how far we are from local amenities etc, which has never been a problem for our many guests thus far.
