I stayed on business at this hotel, chosen because it was located close to where I needed to be, and it was a very odd experience. The website quotes a review that talks of "6 luxury rooms", and talks about free wifi and White Company toiletries. The room I was allocated, no. 7 - although I wasn't sure as it was the only room with no number on the door! - was far from luxurious. It was very clean but that is all I can say about it, it was grey and dimly lit, and had bars on the windows, giving it the feeling of a prison cell. The wifi was intermittent and the toiletries were not White Company, but instead cheap and from a pump bottle fixed to the wall. None of this spelled 'luxury' to me. I arrived at 9pm expecting to be able to check in, but there are no staff based on site; you are directed to collect your key in an envelope that is on a desk, available for any other guest to pick up if they arrive before you. There is a phone at the desk that connects you to someone, but I had no idea where they were. This, along with the decor and being cut off by the unreliable wifi, mean that I felt very isolated and this did not feel safe. Maybe the other rooms are nicer, but I will not be staying again.
