"The desk clerk was extremely helpful during our stay. The rooms are small but feature a comfortable bed and basic amenities. Access to a free laundry room was much appreciated. The crowning feature was a delicious breakfast buffet which puts this inn into the excellent category. Some signage and hallway doors need attention. Quiet"

"I've always enjoyed the North hotel. Only disappointment this time is that I travelled with my puppy and there are only double beds in pet friendly rooms which made sleeping poor. Otherwise, cleanliness was perfect."

"Great views of the lake, a well maintained property and clean. Had a couple of issues with our room and when we notified the senior staff they gave us a partial refund even though we did not request one. We were happy with the compensation, would stay there again."

"The property is very old but iyr room was very nice. A nice young couple mange the property and they were very friendly. I would have liked coffee in my room and not at the front desk ."

"We loved it! I’ll start with the basics. Super clean room and property. Room (#5) was a good size and bed was comfortable. Decorated so nicely. Bathroom was modern and lovely. Great bedding and towels. Free parking. What I didn’t expect was the room was filled with lovely amenities!. From the luxurious Canadian soaps and shampoos, to the fridge filled with sparkling water and cream, to the abundance of coffee pods (tea also), decent coffee cups and beautiful glasses. My husband kept going on...

"Hotel room was very clean , good beds and pillows were okay . Lots of parking space . Breakfast was basic fare but adequate. Receptionist was wonderful and welcoming , even the hotel cleaning people were happy and greeted you . Only downside was terrible coffee in the room and the breakfast bar. I would stay here again though ."

"We really enjoyed ourselves at this B&B. The breakfast was excellent, with really good coffee. We slept well on the great beds and it was very quiet. Sorry we had to leave after only two nights."

"It was a disappointing stay at the habour view room at la dique. The room smelt foul. Mattress was old and soft. Bed sheet was rough from over washed and used. Sink water drainage was slow. "

"The hotel is located on a point 5 minutes from the Fort of Louisburg. Each room had its own entrance and was beautifully decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant which also had entertainment. The waiters looked familiar and had Scottish accents. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There was lots of parking and we could see the Fort of Louisburg from our window. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we ever came back."

"The room was dirty, stained/dirty sheets, floor unswept, not washed, bathroom tub surround dirty. Windows to the view were dirty. Hotel was not as pictured in the advertisement. Furniture is outdated and paint is chipping off. Tv came on but no cable or apps worked, nothing to watch. We were given a second room after complaining about the first one. The second one was better, but the sheets were still very old and the floor need to washing. Staff were nice and helpful, great view"

"This was perfect for our 2-night stay in Cape Breton. Perfect location. Easy to find. Comfortable beds. Close to restaurants and everything we needed. SPECTACULAR view! Basic continental breakfast was much appreciated. We'd stay here again for sure."
