This is a beautiful first class hotel which originally was a colonial mansion which has been recently remodeled and updated.
It is in the center of the historical colonial neighborhood in Capeche. It is near all of the historical architecture, the malecon and sights, as well multiple restaurants and stores. The staff of the hotel were friendly, competent and attentive. The water in the shower could have been warmer, but this was a small compromise to be privileged to experience the ambiance and culture of Compache. This hotel is a true gem.

Quite and handy to old town. Lovely pool area. OK breakfast.
Great value for money. This property is being spruced up and the maintenance is stepped up as well.
Staff was always helpful - and breakfast with eggs cooked to order was a pleasant surprise …and delivered with a smile!
Location couldn't be better. Staff was very helpful. Pool was beautifully clean.
Rooms 1 and 2 the best. Very large old colonial style, marble everything, wonderful view of the old Jesuit Church near by. Lots of road noise but worth it for the view and ambiance. Rooms 3 and 4 similar style but no view and little or no road nouse. The other small two bed rooms looked really small with the only window bringing in light and fresh air from the hallway not so good.

High ceilings
Old historical feel nice decor on main floor
The room was quite spacious and well appointed, the hotel a 2 minute walk from the main pedestrian street and all the sights.
The toilet plumbing was a bit iffy.
Great location, large room with balcony doors.Clean and helpful cleaning staff.
Frig included but not coffee maker (or water glass or Kleenex tissue). Rooms off the street are noisy at night. Can have laundry sent out (no self serve). Delightful small pool in back. No airport shuttle. Breakfast included was usually scrambled eggs with mushroom or ham, coffee, juice, toast and always fresh and tasty. Very easy walk to pedestrian mall and boardwalk along the Gulf
Hotel is within walking distance to the Center. Needs lots of updating. Paint was peeling and had a musty smell to it. Pool was great and breakfast options was enough to start the day. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms are small and consist of double beds but for a couple of nights it’s ok; don’t have high expectations and you’ll be fine.
Great place, very clean and presentable. Brought breakfast up to our rooms which was nice. However, I had asked for a room with 2 beds and only got one, which is much smaller. Also don’t try to sleep in pass 9am, the cleaning ladies are very loud all over the hotel. Their walkie talkies are really loud! 3.5 stars out of 5.
I was given a very small room with several stains on the sheets that appeared to be body fluid. I told the hotel desk clerk. He put new sheets over the dirty sheets, not even bothering to take the time to have a maid change the sheets. I took a few minutes to process this experience and told the clerk that his hotel is unacceptable and I booked a taxi to a better hotel. The hotel was only 30 dollars, but clean sheets are a minimum standard no matter where you go. I will only stay at corporate hotels from now on. I guess they really needed those 30 dollars, as they refused a refund even though I rejected the room within 20 minutes of arrival.
Nos sorprendio el nivel de limpieza y control de sana distancia entre empleados y visitantes.

Very nice people ready ro help all the time. Very well located within walking distance to main places in the old town.
Clean and well maintained place. The only no so good thing is the breakfast at the cafeteria in particular the coffee and toasts hiwever there are many good options in less than two blocks distance.
I booked the best colonial room with view to the Basilica. This room is great for a long stay. King size bed, TV, AC, fridge, best WIFI I have had in Mexico, hugh room with high ceiling and hugh bathroom, perfekt shower.
Negative to say- you hear all noices from neighborn, and they have no shower on poolsite, it is not hygienic.
The standart room don't have windows and are dark.
Unfortunately we got a room facing the street on the first floor and the windows did not offer any soundproofing. When the cars were going by it felt as they were driving through the bedroom. The walls were not any better. The hotel advertised free breakfast however when we got to the breakfast room we were asked for the tickets and we had to go back and ask for them at the reception desk. Our room had only two towels and had to wait for ever for hot water. As well there was no kleenex in the room. Overall a very bad experience.
As my rating indicates most everything excellent. But I did upgrade to executive room as in the other rooms the air conditioning blows right on the bed area. The executive room was large and clean. As I was on top floor water pressure a bit low but adequate. It seems that the executive rooms share at most one wall with an adjacent room, and the other side faces small atrium letting in nice light. I really like Campeche. It is my second visit to city and I love strolling along the gulf. Much new construction just south of holiday inn, could be new park area but too early for me to tell. If you walk down that far ( about 2 kms) be sure and get too rusted sunken ship that they curved walk around.
I liked Hotel Lopez. Nice room good shower wifi and a nice pool. I did not have breakfast in the cafeteria but it was very busy. My only issue was the bed was very soft too soft.
We stayed in one of the suites with high ceilings and it was just gorgeous. The bathroom itself was bigger than most hotel rooms. It’s on a quiet street, which is very important in Campeche where things can get loud with all the bars and restaurants around. Plenty of free street parking (again, on a quiet street that doesn’t get a lot of traffic) so don’t worry if the official hotel lot is full. There is breakfast downstairs (for a fee), and it’s not bad but you could do better at any restaurant within 5 minute walking distance.
Nice, clean hotel with friendly and helpsome staff. The weather wasn't perfect, quite some rain, so it was nice with a good room, and a huge! TV-screen with cable, youtube app & netflix for free, not sure this is standard, or if the last guest forgot to log out ;) plus a table and a comfortable office chair... The area is nice, bit more tranquil than the eastern part of the old town, but still everything is in walking distance.
Immaculate, comfortable, well maintained, and courteous. Great location, working wifi, hot water and good showers, AC that was quiet and efficient, loungers at the pool, good linens, coffee shop, efficient check-in and porter service...these amenities are not a given in Mx for this rate.
Check in was quick and easy, parking is difficult due to the limited space, and the pool was great. Cleanliness is above the normal in Mexico from our experience, and the cleaning staff were very helpful.

Fine for a night
The staff around the hotel were very friendly. The room did not look like the photos, very small and underwhelming compared to the photos. Pool was murky
Cute little hotel. It's not expensive so there are some minor (to me) things that could be better. The shower is not amazing and there are no power points in the room (just two in the bathroom). But the location is spectacular, the staff are friendly and the room is large and clean.
Location was the prime reason you would Surat at this hotel.....one block from main restaurant street....Calle 59 .....and only another block from the main plaza and side streets. Quiet room ....great pool area...refreshing after the day's activities....old town is really restored well and streets are clean and well cared for....walled areas are terrific.....easy to walk the main old town areas.....
Only issue was small bathroom....no dancing in the bathroom I had!! Great wifi, hotel interesting layout....would recommend this hotel as long as the bathroom is acceptable....
The primary thing we did not like was there was a block of mothball smelling insecticide at the base of the water line to the toilet. We arrived late in the evening, didn't quite realize why it smelled so funny. The next day we put it in a bag, but the room still stank. When my wife started to feel sick from the smell, I brought it down to the front desk. In retrospect, we wished we had immediately asked for a different room.
The property was very cool and for the most part, quiet. Bathrooms were a bit tight but all was well. Being a block off of 9th where the street cafes setup was great! Easy access but no noise. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Fantastic stay for the price.
