  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

We stayed here for 10 days when we were in Calella to compete in Ironman. This was a perfect location. We had enough room for our bikes and gear, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals and the balcony was amazing - huge, great views and private! (we were on the top floor and had the space all to ourselves). The hotel was so kind to athletes, posting a notice in the elevators the night before the race to keep noise levels down so athletes can get a good night's rest. It was so appreciated that the hotel recognized the importance of the event we were there for. The rooftop pool area was an awesome place to unwind and the hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. We loved our stay there!

We stayed in apartment 14. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay albeit the accommodation was very basic. A comfortable seating area and some updated furniture would have been great, as would some coffee pods for the machine. We also had to go and buy toilet roll as the housekeeping only came once and this was after we were due to run out! The facilities in the hotel are lovely - very clean and comfortable. Loved the rooftop pool but don’t expect to swim in it! The other pool was always in the shade and also small too so we didn’t use that one. Breakfast and dinner were good and the snack menu was great, as were the cocktails. Staff were mostly great. Love the location, so handy having everything in walking distance.

Nice hotel perfect situated and super beach bar

Very helpful senior management, however day to day service poor due to lack of experience, engagement or instructions? Recomend to book at the renovated hotel part, not the old apartment part. Not really suitable for kids due to small pools. Now we got to know the hotel ee will try it once more

Das Appartement war sauber als wir angekommen sind, obwohl es schon sehr abgenutzt war und hatte einige Mängel. Kaffeemaschine war nicht mehr benutzbar, Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen waren nicht in einem einwandfreiem Zustand. Ein Teil des Küchentresens war abgebrochen. Habe dies beanstandet und es wurde umgehend repariert und ausgetauscht. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Barbara an der Rezeption, die dafür Sorge getragen hat, dass alles schnellstmöglich erledigt wurde. Das übrige Personal von der Rezeption und das Service beim Frühstücksbuffet waren auch Top. Es wurde immer wieder aufgefüllt bis zum Schluss (10:30) und es wurde nicht sofort alles abgebaut sondern man konnte sich in Ruhe noch was nehmen. Wirklich toll! Abendbüffet haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, da es sehr viele Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe gibt und vieles kulinarisch zu entdecken gibt. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub, tollen Strand fanden wir den Platja Garbí

Très belle hôtel dès l’arriver le hall est très propre personnel au top appartement bien idéal pour les familles nombreuses juste le spa est en plus il faut payer un supplément pour y avoir accès 50min privatiser c’est dommage hors piscine sur roof top pas chauffé pour la période de mai juin dommage mais sinon très bien

Hotel is mooi ingericht, zwembaden zijn klein maar comfortabel (3 stuks buiten en 1 in spa) en personeel is heel erg vriendelijk. Ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en goed. We zaten in twee verschillende appartementen. Die haalden het 4 sterren niveau niet (wel groot en schoon, maar niet modern en achterstallig onderhoud, vooral wat betreft de badkamers), maar daar was de prijs ook naar. Overall great value for money! Er zijn maar weinig parkeerplaatsen in de garage beschikbaar, dus vroeg reserveren!

En famille

Très bien situé au centre de Calella, mais du coup un peu bruyant. L’appartement un peu vieillissant et dommage rien pour pendre le linge sur le petit balcon. Une partie de l’hôtel est neuve, certains appartements le sont aussi mais pas tous. Globalement nous avons tout de même passé un bon séjour. Le petit-déjeuner et déjeuner buffet sont très bien.

Geluidsoverlast bij verblijf

Het appartement was basic en in orde. We zaten aan het eind van het seizoen. Een dag van te voren kregen we een mail dat alle faciliteiten gesloten waren. Geen zwembad, geen ontbijt. Jammer. Een eerder bericht was fijn geweest omdat we dan nog om hadden kunnen zien naar een ander appartement. Op maandagmorgen begonnen er renovatie werkzaamheden aan het hotel. Er werd een gat in het dak en in een aantal muren gezaagd, geboord en gebeiteld. Dit heeft de hele week aangehouden. Niet wat we hadden verwacht. Onaangekondigd. Hadden we dit geweten dan waren we hier niet naar toe gegaan. Wakker worden door werkzaamheden is niet fijn. Je komt in ons geval voor rust. Deze was ver te zoeken.

Apartamento equipado al completo. Cercanía a la playa y zona comercial. En negativo solo decir que había apartamentos de gente joven y hacían ruido, es recomendable para ir en familia pero hay también gente joven que los reserva.

Vi hadde en leilighet med separat soverom. Veldig behagelig, god plass for to personer. Godt utstyrt leilighet med blant annet strykebrett og tørkestativ. Rolig. Rett ved gate med spisesteder og butikker, men ikke de typiske souvenirbutikkene som vi fant flere av et annet sted i byen der det var flere hoteller. Meget fornøyd med beliggenheten.

Olimme huoneistohotellin puolella. Suihkuun ei voinut kunnolla mennä kolmeen päivään-suihkuvesi tuli eteisen puolelle. Jouduimme kaksi kertaa sanomaan että korjaisivat vian. Huoneesta kuuluivat kaikki äänet todella hyvin läpi-roskiksia ei tyhjennetty eikä neuvottu mihin ne voi tyhjentää. Hyvällä paikalla keskustan/rannan yhteydessä hotelli oli.

Günstiges Hotel das hält was es verspricht

Nach schnellem Einchecken mit sehr kompetentem Personal und guten Erläuterungen in mehreren Sprachen kamen wir in die Appartments. Sie waren groß genug und sehr sauber und hygienisch. Das Bad war modern und in der Küche fand man alle nötigen Utensilien. Bis auf Spülmittel mussten wir nichts für unseren 1-wöchigen Aufenthalt besorgen. Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, es wird nachts ruhig aber man ist nicht zu weit weg vom Geschehen. Alles in Allem für den Preis Super und schwer zu toppen.

Good value for money

We checked in late due to flight delay but all went smoothly. We stayed in a apartment so didn’t use any facilities in the hotel but had a look around and seemed exactly as the photos showed. Close to beach, train, bus stop, shops & restaurants. We were told to keep our kitchen clean & to empty rubbish which was fine, only disappointing thing was after we’d had a day in Barcelona we came back to unmade beds which wasn’t an issue just unexpected. On checkout they check your room before you vacate the premises and my credit card details were destroyed in front of me.
