"The hotel is lovely and close to the beach. But, our room was on the ground floor and tiny. The ground floor rooms are an afterthought that were added later, paper thin walls and the bathroom was also tiny. The resort has no parking, so if you are driving you have to find street parking which could be impossible during busy times. I would stay here again, but be more careful about picking a “standard room.”"

"We found Hotel Portbo to be a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in the beautiful Calella de Palafrugell. There is a friendly and accommodating staff, the accommodations were clean and well cared for, and the hotel is well-located only about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and the center of town. The hotel does not have elevator, but the gentleman who checked us in was very kind to carry our bags to the third floor upon arrival and departure. Many reviewers praised the free daily breakfast, and I agree that it was a special treat! The buffet was outstanding, with an extensive selection of fresh, delicious foods which were beautifully arranged and were as delicious as they looked! Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would heartily recommend Hotel Portbo to other travelers."

Car parking is very limited to few vehicle's unless ypi want to parl in the extensive surrounding grounds. This can be inconvenient. "The room was clean and bright, the shower powerful and easy to control. Aircon worked well Breakfast was served in the garden. Orange juice and Yoghurt, fruits, granola, cheese, ham, sausage with crusty bread and croissants - all very fresh and tasty. The two owners served us, both really attentive and friendly. They lent us beach towels and chairs for the beach and umbrellas when we had a rainy day (very rare). All in all, a really good place to stay. "
