Hi Creed, Thanks for taking the time to share your review about your recent time at Floriana Guest House. We believe all guest feedback important, and take it seriously. We work very hard to ensure that we continue to offer great family friendly accommodation directly on the Cairns Esplanade. To address some of your concerns, our rooms are professionally cleaned between all guests - including prior to your stay. They have all been individually photographed and listed to allow guests to make informed choices to fit both needs and budgets. As no two rooms are the same as regards appearance or price it is not possible that we "allocated" you a room different to that you booked and paid for. I do apologise that there was some improvement work going on at the property when you arrived at 9:30am without an early check in rather than the 2pm check in time, regardless we did still accommodate your needs. Whilst the budget room you booked does not have mold, you did arrive during the same Cairns' rain that had stalled the improvement work the morning you mentioned. I did discuss the possibility of a refund with you when you called that evening, based on your statement that you could not stay in a room if the TV was not working and that you had not used the room - despite it being against our policy. Unfortunately you vacated the room and departed immediately without awaiting my arrival to inspect the room or check on the TV. I found that you had used the bed and room amenities, and the same TV is was working properly regardless. We attempted to contact you at the time about this however received no response. I apologise if you feel you were not treated with respect at all times. We offer family friendly accommodation and our policy is to end any calls where repeated bad language is used or threats made. I can only assume that you feel disrespected by your recent phone call that I had to end.
