"Staying at The Alan was a total break from real life in the best possible way. The decor was so entirely me & beautifully industrial but with an artist’s garret edge to it. Staff could not have been more helpful. When I asked for more water they were up within 5mins (you can’t fill the kettle from the basin) & when I said I had had problems the first night with the room being cold they sent a maintenance man up within ten mins who completely took the thermostat apart, repaired it & stood with a thermometer gun thing pointing at the vent til it hit the correct temperature & explained to me how to keep it consistent. Shower was hot and wonderful. I hated to leave. "
