Not happy
The hotel sent an email the day before arrival saying my reservation was cancelled due to "unavoidable circumstances". There was no additional explanation given. No refund was mentioned either and I was told to refer back to Hotels.com for any possible refund. This was the weekend of the local University's Homecoming/Student Preview which I was attending so it was impossible to find a replacement hotel on such short notice. My friends in the area said it was a good thing to not stay here though.
We did not stay at your lousy hotel. I booked a stay, you took my money, and your facility was closed. I knew you would not get back to me, so all I can do is give you a lousy review.
I hope no one else gets taken by you because your still allowing reservations through hotels.com
Closed by the city of brownwood for it being bed bug, insect, and rodent infested. It also was cited for being dirty, having exposed wires, damaged smoke detectors, missing or broken AC and so much more.
The site advertised two queen-sized beds, but the place only has full-sized beds for their double rooms (I was there with my husband and pre-teenage son, so we needed two beds). Only two towels were allocated for the room; no washcloths, tissues, or even a trash can was/were provided. Dead bugs littered the floor. Crickets squeezed through the gap in the doorway and chirped in the room all night. The foot gap between the bottom of the curtain and the floor in front of the floor-to-ceiling window was a little disconcerting, as well (some concern for privacy). Despite that, housekeeping was friendly and followed through with my request for more towels, and when the keycards kept deactivating, the clerk at the front desk remained courteous and helpful. The place was cheap and convenient, but it could definitely use some love.
Despite having prepaid through Expedia, the Hotel did not have a room for us. I have been unable to get any concurrence of a refund from Expedia or the Hotel.
My advice: stay home or pay cash.
Should have read the reviews. Worst hotel ever. First room-no ac as in unit was removed with a hole leading outside, blood on sink, no towels, trash in room, urine in toliet and on floor. Second room-no towels, 1 stained pillow, trash in room, bed unmade-appeared to be someones room or never cleaned. Third room-door would not open. Requested a refund. Site refused and directed me to Hotels.com. Hotels.com referred me to site or corporate. Corporate took initial call, now my calls are mysteriously dropped every time.
This was the worst property I have ever been to. It is dirty and looks like a homeless camp. I checked in and was placed in a dirty room, went to a second room with some one passed out on the bed, then a third room that smelled like smoke and the air conditioner did not work. I asked for my money back and could not get it so I filed a complaint with my credit card to get my money back and went to a new hotel.
We didn't stay or get a refund the room was disgusting, faeces on the top sheet, blood and urine on the bottom sheet, bed broken, bugs crawling on the floor, bathroom dirty, shower dirty and held together by tape, no TV, no light bulbs in lights, hair dryer covered in dirt, will never ever return!!
Love the hardwood floor. Outside paint could make the property more appealing if finished. Staff was helpful. Enjoy the chromecast. Would have liked more time in the pool area as I arrived late. Bed was comfy. Will be returning.
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at!!! Piss poor management, place is filthy. Walked into room and there was no toilet paper, no towels, sheets where stained, no tv, fridge was gross and didn’t work.
I wouldn’t put farm animals in that place!!
What a joke. Advise people to sleep in there car if they can’t find a different room in the Brownwood area!
Don’t ever stay here !!! Maintenence opened my door with a crowbar and seemed ok with it just because my key card would not open the door. There was stains on my bed , toilet paper on the wall !!! Very unsanitary . The stairwell was deteriorating and loose and the front desk lady had no idea what she was doing!!!! HEAP MY WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE
There were roaches, curtains were tied with a hole and ribbon because they were broken, no phone, tv but no cable, wifi sucked, no trash cans , had to move bed to plug in the lamp, mattress was dirty, sheets were dirty, and I can’t remember what else. It was so bad we took the loss and went to a different hotel.
The air conditioner did not work. No tv, the sheets were dirty and the lid on the toilet was broken. I would never recommend the OYO to my worst enemy.
This was the worst. A filthy hotel that should be closed. It was so bad that we only spent about 10 minutes in the room, left and stayed the night down the road at Comfort Inn.
The curtain wouldn't close but a few inches, so the room and bed was totally open to anyone passing down the hall. There was a used condom in one of the drawers, and trash behind the dresser. Four of 7 light bulbs were missing. Only 1 towel set for 2 people. The TV didn’t have an electrical plug or remote. Management brought in another TV, but no cable service, so not even local channels. Toilet was leaky, ran continuously. Toilet paper holder was missing. Exterior grounds, stairs and hallways were dirty and full of debris and trash.
When we turned in our key, and mentioned our issues, the clerk was rude, and said they knew all those things. They did not offer a refund on the room, or an apology. She did say they'd put in our deposit fee return request in 3 days, then it would take the credit card company another 72 hours to process. Their delay is unacceptable, even though their internet service wasn't working. Credit card company delay is pretty standard.
Hotels.com should not include OYO Hotels in their offerings. My advice, if you can't find another hotel, sleep in your car!
I liked that the noise on the property was not excessive or inordinate and that, even though we did not occasion to partake of the luxury, the pool looked clean. Otherwise, I can't report much good. The first room was clean but reeked of vomit and urine. The responsive young lady at the front desk offered another room; but that room was not as clean, suffered from a broken curtain, had not been cooled and offered a saggy mattress. Moreover, a leak developed by the sink after we settled in for the evening and progressively worsened throughout the day. I reported the leak before we left in the morning, but nothing had been addressed before we returned to check out early that evening. Additionally, I was plagued repeatedly by cards that did not successfully grant me access to my room. In short this property should be condemned, and I insist that Travelocity cease representing and recommending it. I will also trouble them with an appeal for compensation for the troubling experience.
I did not spend 3 min inside the room, the conditions of the hotel are deplorable, torn sheets, extremely dirty room, dead cockroaches, no toilet paper no towels, blood in the walls its a completly sewer.
