"This place obviously has been being upgraded and spruced up but we had no heat and no hot water. The grounds were shabby as it needed mowed and cleaned up. We should, in any reasonable world, get our money back."

"The front desk staff was tremendously, helpful and pleasant to deal with . Lea Collins, the Guest Services Manager, was absolutely outstanding and compassionate when we had to cut our trip short due to illness.
Be prepared to do some walking to get to the pools but other than that the resort is truly wonderful."
"If you are not keen on lake views, this is the best boutique hotel in the area. We plan to visit again and stay in one of their lushna suites. The rooms are great too and with a great antique boutique cute lounge area. They provide marshmallows and all too for guests to enjoy. Enjoyed the firepit and the sauna. Wish the weather was warm enough to jump in to the pool."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton in Lake Placid. The location is fantastic, close to the lake and within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops.
The hotel was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and had a very welcoming atmosphere. One of our favorite features was the spacious lobby, which was a great place to relax and spend time during rainy days. Our children especially loved the projector room, which provided a fun movie-theater-like experience.
The staff was friendly and professional, and it was clear that management takes great pride in maintaining the property and ensuring guests have an enjoyable stay. We highly recommend this hotel to families and anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Lake Placid."
"Had a single night stay on our roadtrip.
The good: Check in was smooth, room was easy to find. Ample parking which was well lit. Restaurant food was top notch and service was fast.
The meh: The floor along one side of the wall of the room looked like it was missed during cleaning, and it had more hair/dirt than one would expect. Also found a weird hair embedded in the first shower towel we grabbed. Towel was clean, just looks like the wash didn't get that one out which was a bit of an ick. Shower layout was a puzzler. The door handle for the shower and the grab bar in the shower align when the door is closed in parallel. This makes the shower about 6-7 inches thinner and makes the shower tighter than one would want. Just a questionable design decision.
The bad: We had a balcony room, and luckily/unluckily it was raining so we didn't sit on it, but one of the two chairs had the entire seating area ripped so I doubt anyone could actually sit in it. Reported it to the front desk and told them not to bother, but the next person might want a usable chair. First mixed drink from the restaurant came with a freshly chipped glass, so who knows where that glass shard went. It was promptly replaced with a fresh glass/drink. Had an unexpected Monday 5am wakeup to what sounded like garbage pickup for 20mins of truck reverse beeping and banging from garbage bin tops right next to the room. Not exactly the relaxing wakeup we expected."
