All round the hotel was in the right location for our needs. The only thing was we were in a room in the roof space so it was restricted with head room, so if you got up in the night you had to remember to bend or you would hit your head , recommend when booking request you are on the lower floor as the bedrooms look more roomy and lager especially if you are staying for a few days.

It is a lovely welcoming boutique hotel with comfortable rooms providing all I needed for a holiday. The staff are very friendly welcoming and helpful. They will go out of their way to help you that extra step if necessary and are always cheerful even when extremely busy. The food is delicious with lots of variety catering for all needs and very reasonably priced. It is 10 minutes walk from the sea and near to the shopping centre too. It is a popular meeting and eating place for local people but not noisy. Background music is pleasant but does not interfere with conversations. I hope it continues to do well. I give it 10 out of 10 on all counts and am recommending it to everyone!

Birthday weekend

The hotel is indeed very relaxed and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. Nothing was too much for the very friendly staff. We also had our birthday weekend with family and grandchildren at the Urban Reef restaurant by the beach, fantastic!

Quirky & comfortable

Made last-minute decision to stay in Bournemouth for the night and this place did not disappoint. The room was a decent size with a super-comfy bed. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Lounge with open-view roof is perfect on a sunny day to enjoy drinks. - The steps to the rooms may be tricky for people with mobility issues. - Parking is on-street only and on a first-come basis.

Toilet Nightmare

The Hotel was clean but service very poor. The Toilet was so small could not sit on and had to sideways put your leg out the door. sink too small water flying out. Asked for extra tea bags and daily water bottles looked at me like I was from another planet !! Riped off for drinks and no parking around the area also very rough area.

Friendly boutique hotel

I had a wonderful stay at Urban Beach. Staff were warm and friendly - nothing too much trouble and everything had been thought of - even a DVD stash and wellies for a wander to the beach in bad weather. Room was well furnished, a good size and comfortable too. Food was absolutely superb for dinner and breakfast as well as being good value. Cant wait to stay again. Bonus, it's under 10 mins walk to Boscombe Pier & Beach too.

Lovely stay!

Very welcoming staff and felt very homely as well as a great atmosphere downstairs in the restaurant area in which you could sit inside as well as outside, although we didn’t use the restaurant it was nice to have the option. A 10 min walk from the beach / boscombe pier. Took my boyfriend for his 21st and staff were very upbeat and had friendly touches such as being greeted with glass of champagne due to the occasion. Bedroom was beautiful, as well as the bathroom, very clean, bed comfy, also had a fan for the hot weather. Only good things to say!

The worst hotel in the world. Reception very, very bad. There is no air conditioning. There is only a fan close to the window. The air draws directly from the outside to insect insects and bad odors from the hotel's waste bins under the window

Incredible

Fantastic! Very relaxed place! The double room is very big with good amenities, very silent light and ventilated. Big bathroom with shower and bathtub. The staff is awesome, always kind, positive and ready to help. Good located, close to beach and supermarkets in a relaxed neighborhood. They have a incredibly nice restaurant/pub/lounge downstairs.

A cool spot

This was just cool: cool hotel, cool staff, cool clientele - something between a popular pub and a nicely renovated old pub. I didn't expect it to be so good, and ventured not far - it was far too much fun hanging about. Close to the beach if you need that, but the cocktails are closer to the bar!

I booked to stay near my flat for a tenant check-out. But I also have lots of friends in the area as Bournemouth was my home for 20 years until recently. Urban Beach was somewhere I would have recommended to friends when they came to stay but I'd never stayed myself. The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. The food is great and their cocktail list is excellent - try the Bramble! I stayed in the single room - it was small but perfectly formed. It had everything I needed and there was a coffee grinder in the hallway to help yourself to. Breakfast was not included in my booking but they served from 7.30 until 11.30 (I think that was right?) and it's a favourite brunch spot for locals.

Great stay

Excellent stay. Checkin was easy and then shown to my room which was clean with all the amenities you need. Only had breakfast on the one day which again was great.Ate elsewhere in the evening as came to see family but food looked really good and was very popular.

I was taken aback to find that the 'pre authorisation' on check in, immediately removed £100 from my account. When i realised the money had been removed i asked the staff who said it would be given back 5 days after i had left ! The hotel was short staffed which meant very slow service and food had been left on the hot plate for way too long. Some staff were friendly and some weren't. The room was nice and modern. I wont be staying there again which is a shame as it used to be a good hotel.

Really nice atmosphere and lovely staff

One night business trip. Very interesting and modern hotel with nice staff and fabulous food. Single room is very compact but fine for one night with nice additional "extras". My only comment is that the bed & pillows were extremely hard & uncomfortable, otherwise good value for money

Very cool hotel

I spent two nights here on a weekend away for work. My room was very clean and comfortable with everything I needed. I also ate in the bar downstairs one evening and breakfast and it really was amazing, definitely recommended! Charlotte in particular made me feel very welcome and was a most fantastic hostess. My only downside was that you can hear a lot of noise from one room to another and some of the guests were inconsiderately loud but that is hotels for you really. Overall very good and I’ll definitely stay again when in Bournemouth
