EXCEPT the hotel recommended wine tour which was poor no vine yard just a sales pitch of very expensive wine from a self promoting guide who soon lost interest when he didn’t see the big sale..

"First time staying here and hopefully wont be our last. Stayed here with my wife and daughter. What a gem. High quality establishment. The door area and pool is pure luxury. The breast fast was the best we have had in France and we have been coming to France for many years. Great choice of food. Excellent range of beverages available all day at the self service bar. The rooms are specious. The entire establishment is very clean. The owners take time to make you feel welcome on arrival. Lovely couple who also speak excellent English. "Booked and paid in JANUARY. Arrived 16:00 (check-in allegedly from 14:00). Place was locked; could not make anyone hear us. Waited 30 minutes before finding another hotel. Had also booked dinner but the sign outside said the restaurant was closed on Tuesday (the day of our stay). Contacted hotels.com to request full refund - this was apparently refused by the hotel (though hotels.com personnel said they couldn’t really communicate with hotel very well as the staff there only spoke French. Er… it’s a French hotel!!!). Eventually given £25 in award points - well under half what we had paid five months earlier! VERY unhappy with the whole situation!"
