Suitable, a few things could be attended

Room had a smoke odor, bathroom door squeaked, tub had an incline, ie, floor not solid. Tv remote did not turn on or off. Quiet, clean, cute folded towels, staff very friendly

Very disgusting place. Unsanitary. Dirty room and bathroom. Carpet that smells.

New River Inn no, Best Western yes

I originally booked for the New River Inn but ended up staying at the Best Western. Apparently the BW has taken over management and I am glad. I went in what I thought was the front door. There was not a soul to be found. I walked down a hallway looking for anyone to ask questions but it was dark and empty. There was a dank, musty smell to go along with it. I just left. Went to the front desk of the BW and the person there told me I could check in with her. I said no thanks. She gave me a room at the BW and it was a pleasant, comfortable stay. I would tell Best Western to not book rooms at the New River Inn until the updates are done and the place is secure. As a woman traveling alone, I would have been terrified to stay there.

Spacious room comfortable bed

Staff is very friendly and helpful Location is great if you are visiting Radford University They were doing remodeling work so carpet was not very clean but rest of room was very spacious and comfortable I was able to bring my dog no problem It's actually part of the Best Western Hotel next to it

Terrible

This hotel smells like a nursing home. There were stains on the comforters and linens. The room was dirty and the were bugs on the floor. Disgusting.

Breakfast Buffet had zero food!

The sheets and comforter was incredibly hard and very itchy. The room smelled. And the free breakfast had ZERO food. There were two sausage links left and no one was around to refill the food. And there was over an hour and half before the buffet closed. We were on a tight schedule and had to check into Radford and at 9:00 am so we had no food in our stomachs. Very poor planning.

No complaints here

Spent one night at the hotel and there was nothing negative to report. The room was clean and quiet and it's only 5 minutes from the university.

TOTAL RIP OFF! STAYING ELSEWHERE THE NEXT 4 YEARS!

I booked this hotel through Expedia for a tour/visit to Radford University for 4/8/17. I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past due to the fact that I am an active alumni, as is my son. I have never had a problem in the past with this establishment, but I guess a new name means new management. I flew to Richmond, VA for a funeral the weekend before my scheduled visit to Radford, and my return home in Nashville, TN was to be on 4/5. Due to stormy weather in Atlanta, my flight was cancelled. The next day, my flight was cancelled again, and I was informed that I would not be able to get back to Nashville until Saturday, 4/8, the day I was to be in Radford. I made arrangements for my daughter to be driven to Radford, and I would rent a car to drive from Richmond to Radford. I booked my hotel online a little after midnight on 4/7 and went to bed. The next morning, I was told that due to the # of flight cancellations, there were NO rental cars available. Therefore, I called the New River Inn & Suites to cancel my reservation for two nights. The problem was...NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE! I did leave a detailed message as to why I had to cancel and asked the hotel to please return my call. NO NONE EVER DID! I called Expedia and explained my circumstances. They placed me on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to reach the hotel. NO ONE ANSWERED! Bottom line, I WAS CHARGED A NO SHOW FOR THE FULL PRICE OF TWO NIGHTS! You have lost this frequent customer!

Awful - Do not stay here.

I would not stay here unless you have to. Our phone did not work, our a/c unit did not work. The building should be condemned. I am still waiting to hear back from the manager to address our issues.

Unwittingly reserved a non-smoking room in a smoking building....hallways reeked of smoke, but the room was odor free (thankfully). This building is a bit run-down, but the staff were excellent. Signage could have been better...check-in was actually at the neighboring Best Western and the phone in the "lobby" of the New River Inn and suites, marked as "Courtesy Phone to Front Desk" did not have instructions so it was impossible to contact the front desk. Ice machine appeared to be inoperable for over a decade.

Gross.

It's really run down and dirty, and I ended up leaving to find a room somewhere else because there were bugs. I will be asking for a full refund. I really wasn't expecting much, but how this place got a rating of "3" is beyond me. It's awful.

Disgusting and Dangerous!!!

This property has you check in at the Best Western next door to get a key! NO STAFF or manger on site! Very scary two cars in parking lot at 12 am. Filthy dirty beyond belief! They would not refund me at the hotel!!! I got there at 12am after a kind day! I chose to drive 5 hrs to Norfolk rather than stay at this dive!

Good location, but badly in need of a remodel

Great proximity to Radford University. Friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast. But the rooms themselves are very old, smell smoky, all furnishings, towels, sheets, etc stained and dirty.

Huge suite and jetted tub

Stayed in room 161, was a little dated. Had never seen a bigger jetted tub than the one here. Could have been a little cleaner. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel this isn't it, was worth the price. Would stay again just for the bath.

Cheap but not the best

Building security was the main issue I had. A man got into the building and was beating on the all the doors at midnight. Someone chocked the outside entry door open and it was left all day until I closed it. The room door lock would sporadically not lock. The room was dirty and smelled bad.

Needs renovation

Staff handling hotel were great, but located next door. Dirty towels and stray laundry in room at check-in.
