Nice modern bar and restaurant area. Spacious room. Bed was a bit small, but comfortable. Our bathroom had a shower over the bath, but no shower door or curtain, making it a little bit awkward.

Friendly check in. On inspection I found my mattress had no protective cover on ,or the pillows. , mattress was covered in peewee stains.I wish I could upload the picture!. Such a let down for the Hotel, I’ll not be back if they think this is acceptable.

Was very noisy, could hear the floorboards creaking from upstairs rooms. Weren't given the wifi code either and TV didn't work without it. However was a good price and had car parking.

Staff friendly check in simple & efficient. Room is clean very simple but very warm. Window had double glazing which cut out the traffic noise but down side could not open window to let in any fresh air. We had to use the provided electric fan to attempt to sleep. Restaurant menu not to our taste and not cheap. We found excellent alternative eateries in town only a short walk away. Breakfast would benefit from a simple non cooked option (cereals toast croissants etc) but blueberry pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were very good. We were in the front in the old part of the building. Maybe other rooms would have been better but as the hotel was fully booked there was no chance of testing that theory. Thee star rating is maintained.

Nice hotel, could do with more cleaners.
The hotel itself is lovely, a bit dated but to me thats not a problem. Last time I stayed, all was well, but this time, a few little niggles. No soap in the bath or shower, and behind the bed hadn't been cleaned or dusted for quite a while. I had to leave early, so didn't have time to raise this at the time. Im sure its just a one off, and I'd be happy to stay again.

The hotel itself is lovely, in a prime location for the town. The bar and restaurant area was great, and the breakfast was lovely...although a little over priced. The rooms, are fine, if you are only there for one night, and needed a bed and a hot shower. The rooms are very tired, dated, and not worth the money we paid. The beds are no good if you are over 6ft tall, as they have wooden ends!

Very convenient position for meeting up with friends in the area. The bar and dining room had attractive decor also were beautifully decorated for Christmas. I loved the open fire even though it wasn’t a ‘real’ one. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I had booked a single room but might consider a double next time as it felt very basic.

Amazing Experience
What an amazing experience we had. We stayed for 5 nights while waiting to move into our new house. The room was huge and all amenities were catered for. The housekeeping were fabulous, Jo and her team added an extra bed to our room and replenished things daily - so friendly. Harry in reception/breakfast gave outstanding service. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Harry is a real asset to the Stratton house team. Jenny, was so welcoming at dinner in your restaurant - she recommended a locally made cider, Cranes, utterly delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Biggleswade. The staff have a great knowldge of the local area and will happily explain whats on and where to visit. We will definelty be returning again.

Disappointing
I booked two hotel rooms for some friends to stay as we had a wedding to attend. We were allowed an early check in which was kind, but our room left much to be desired. Very basic amenities for the price and the bathroom had damp and slime on the bath tap which stopped me from having a bath. My friend’s room upstairs seemed pleasant enough, but it was missing a kettle even though she had tea and coffee set out. That aside, while she was sleeping, she was woken up at 3am to a strange man at her door who wanted to give her a bag of linen. She was then quite scared to go to sleep as she was alone and understandably shaken after this. We have contacted the hotel for a refund for this room, but have still heard nothing back. Our room also had very little sound proofing as we were woken up by slamming doors at 6:30am. Rather disappointed at having spent so much money for our stay.

Cheap stay, excellent food
I stayed for a couple of nights on business and booked a cheap single room. It was what it was and okay. The shower was hard to control and lacked any force, that was the main problem. I had to ask for a towel on arrival as there was only a hand towel in the roo, but that was dealt with quickly. The English breakfast on the first day was excellent. The cook really knows how to make each element very tasty. That bnight I had a ribeye steak and, again, it was excellent. On the second day I have Eggs Benedict for breakfast and it was one of the best that I have tasted. There is a real eye for detail in the kicthen and I really recommend it. The staff in the bar and restaurant are also very good. Jenny in particular was just lovely and I enjoyed meeting her. The team here is excellent.

A gem at the price
A lovely hotel, very spacious and comfortable bar and breakfast area, great breakfast (except filter coffee!). Bedroom very adequate and comfortable. The staff were so professional and pleasant, coping wonderfully and graciously with our several requests for room changes!(only because of changes in number of people staying). Loved sitting outside with our wine among the flowers 🙂

We were a little disappointed with the room as we were in an attic with a sloping ceiling. You could not stand up in the bath to have a shower so I managed to have a bath but my wife had to have a strip wash, in that she has had a recent hip replacement. We didn't complain but must say the breakfast was superb.

Good but a few niggles
Friendly staff, delicious food, convenient location. However unfortunately we stayed the night of England playing Ukraine at football which meant a lot of noise which in itself wasn’t that bad but because it was a very hot day and the room had no air conditioning or fan we had to have window fully opened which meant noise and occasional cigarette smoke effected us. Upon further investigation I think the room may suffer from being overtly hot because we where above the kitchen and near boiler. They could really do with investing in A/C or at the very least some good fans - I hardly had any sleep at all, which was such a shame because the staff where friendly and we loved our evening meal and cocktails and cooked breakfast was delicious

Not enamoured with this hotel room.
The room was described as a superior double. I don’t know what it was superior to but it wasn’t comparable to similar hotels of a similar price I have previously stayed in. There were some obvious signs of dirtiness in the bathroom and the shower mixer did not work, meaning you could only have a scalding shower. Even if the shower had worked, the fitting only came up to knee height so you would need to hold the shower head in your hand. There were some nasty stains on the headboard also. Staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was fine.

My personal experience here was not good but does not necessarily reflect the views of all other guests who didnt experience what I did. I had booked. a suite up in the eaves of what looked like the older part of the building. Very characterful with exposed beams and uneven floors common with buildings of this age. I thought it was lovely until i looked closer. As I walked into the room I walked through a cobweb. there were cobwebs everywhere, in the toilet, the bathroom, round the windows, corners of the room etc. The windows were dirty and it was obvious there hadnt been a thorough cleaning regime in place. The bed was rock hard. My back was in agony the following day as a result. The toilet and bathroom in this room were separate and in the eaves of the roof which meant showering kneeling down. After knee surgery that is not ideal. For what should have been the hotel's 'top' room, I was so disappointed I didnt bother staying for the rest of my booking. Huge amounts of potential and character let down on so many levels. Such as shame as overall, it was a nice enough place.

Our Suite is full of character and like you say is located in the eaves, we did offer to move you to a different style of room at the time, however this was declined we have since refunded you for the nights that you choose not to stay.

A little dated but good service.
Stayed at the Stratton House while visiting friends for a birthday celebration. Whilst the hotel feels a bit dated inside and could do with a bit of updating and maintenance, the staff more that made up for this. Everyone we encountered were really friendly and attentive. This coupled with good food and a great breakfast made for a really pleasant stay. Thanks to all the staff at The Stratton House .
