Nice enough place and reasonably priced
Nice enough place and was fine for one night. Customer service and welcome could have been a bit friendlier as it didn’t feel like I was welcomed. Nice furniature in the room to go with the building and comfy bed but work needs to be done to the room. My room had very bad TV reception, a broken window letting a bad draft in and a leaking tap. Things like power switches needed fixing and a better clean of smaller areas would make the place much nicer as there were stains on the floor. Still worth it for one night and well situated in the town. Very reasonable for the price

Was looking forward to my stay in the heart of my hometown. Room spacious clean, but was like a sauna when i walked in. Had to leave the window propped open to let the heat out and some air in. Even the complementary water bottles tasted like warm tap water. Very comfy bed and good nights sleep. However, i was staying there are a group of friends choose this hotel for christmas dinner get together. They said we needed to pay for the food, which we had paid in advance, the friend who booked it showed the paynent from her account. Only to be told point blank, well we dont have it in our accout. No, oh im sorry but there is/was an issue with paynent, just you have to pay again and sort it out your end. She said if you leave without paying the money will be docked from our wages!! When asked so what next then, just more almost aggressive you have to pay with no work or effort or appology to solve the solution their end. She was very demeaning to staff in front of customers also. A little more emotional intellegence or customer service training required for the manager i think! Oh and to top it off, went down for breakfast to be told there is none!! No notice anywhere to say they were not serving. So packed and got out of dodge..... previous stats there never a problem.

The hotel was basic and good value for money. Beds were comfy and the room clean. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, there was a very limited menu, but what we had was excellent value for money just wished there had been more choice. Breakfast was lovely we only had the small breakfast but we felt there was plenty of it. Staff are so friendly and we felt at home from the minute we walked in. All trying very hard to make sure we had all our needs met.

Our room overlooked the market square. The windows were not double glazed and the noise from the square was dreadful all night. Drunks arguing and swearing and noisy cars. It was very difficult to get any sleep. We had a drink in the bar in the evening and we were the only ones there, except for a couple of staff members that seemed to be having a big disagreement about something.

I’ve stayed here for a few weeks with work and had very pleasant stay. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are large and the location is perfect with plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

I wouldnt recommend this property it wasnt worth it. The shower didn't work in my room the toilets dont flush properly. The only ok thing about this place is the ampunt of dining options around it thats all

GOOD STAY.
The Kings Arms Bicester is a very friendly, comfortable hotel. We were made to feel welcome and were looked after during our stay. Breakfast was great. The hotel was spotlessly clean as was our room. The bed linen and towels were so white it was so good to see. Special thanks to Stacey and Chloe the chef who is very humerous. The car park was ideal for us. We parked our car and walked the 10 minutes to the shopping village. Bicester town centre is across the road from the Kings Arms and is pedestrianised. It is colourful with the planters and trees in bloom.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the key stuck in the lock, the chain pull broke on the old fashioned toilet cistern - as did the lever that operates the flush. The shower was absolutely dreadful. And Sunday breakfast didn't start until 8am, which was far too late for me.

We only stayed one night and unfortunately the chef was off the next morning so we did not have breakfast there. Also there is a night club very near and my partner heard a lot of noise from a crowd of girls coming out of the night club. Room was large and clean & the bed was comfortable though. There were a couple of small issues which we reported to reception (the loo took ages to fill up). Staff friendly & helpful and we would stay here again.

Having read the earlier reviews we were not sure what to expect but, its clear the new owners have spent alot if time and money improving the oremises. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were excellent nice bar and dining room although we did not dine so cannot offer an opinion there, all. In all a very plesent stay

I was informed the day before my stay that there would be no food served due to a refurb and the tv in my room did not work, an issue that could not be resolved.

Hi John, Apologies, we are new owners and only started serving food yesterday actually. Thank you for letting us know about the television however I have had housekeeping check all rooms and we have no issues with Tv's. i can only think it may have been there weather if your stay was when we had bad rain.

A hotel that needs help
The hotel seems like it on the brink of closure. No one staying there, no evening meals, no breakfast and no one on checkout. People just leave the key on the counter and there are bars on the doorways. Nice town. Parking for cars that aren't too tall.

Hi Chris, We are the new owners and can confirm we are not closing we are newly open only a few weeks. Our occupancy is actaully really high so not sure if you stayed at the right hotel. People that leave early are asked to leave there room key on the desk at the bar yes as none of the team start till 7am.

Whilst the location was perfect for me, I was only notified the day before I checked in that their restuarant was closed, which isn't great when you are travelling on your own. I stayed 3 nights and the only time I saw the cleaning staff was when I asked for some toilet paper, other than that, my room was never serviced. The area outside was like a building site and because the reception staff were around the corner from the door, it's not a welcoming place. The staff were polite enough when you spoke to them though.

Hi Tracy, I really don't understand this review, its clearly stated in your welcome email that food wasn't available, only breakfast. Our housekeeping team spoke to you each day and all you asked for was toilet roll which was given. The outside area is all being refurbed with works just complete on the chimney. Our reception area is located perfectly for all areas of the business I am glad the team were polite we strive for great service

Very basic room. No bath towels so had to make do with two hand towels. No shower gel or shampoo provided. Very uncomfortable pillows. No air con so room very hot at night.

Hi Colin, I am unsure as to why you had no towels as we have full stock same with the soap and shampoo all of this is available at all times. We cant get aircon however you could have requested a fan from reception

Fine for a business stay.
Offering a reasonable room at a competitive price. Comfortable bed good shower and a quiet room once other residents had settled in. Heavy doors cause an intermittent banging.

The room was clean and well provisioned,but the window in the bathroom didn't open so there was no airflow on a warm night. The restaurant was closed due to management discontinuing the licence and the chef leaving. They say they are restarting soon... The grate to the lounge wasn't opened fully at the top and I hit my head. The staf was one person who was kind and friendly and acted as receptionist, barmaid, etc.

Hi Wendy, I am sorry you felt the need to give us a 6 star. it is clearly stated that we do not have the facility for breakfast as of yet for our guests. This is coming in the next few weeks we are now owners of the business and have certain processes to follow before being able to offer food. Im presuming the rest of your stay was okay
