"A simple, quiet and relatively affordable place to stay far removed from busy traffic. If you arrive in peak season, be aware that the pool area will cost you extra per day and visit. We stayed in one of the cabins and bed linen and towels were also extra, which was a surprise to us upon arriving. The staff is helpful and friendly. "We were absolutely elated by this place! Cala Gonone exceeded our expectations in terms of a beautiful coastal area that isn't mobbed like some other portions of Italy. Hotel Miramare is beautiful and right next to the beach. Parking was a little unclear and we got a ticket, so be aware of parking rules and finding a spot. The staff was very friendly and helpful with many suggestions. Our room was fantastic - complete with TWO balconies. The south balcony was a bit warm for our tastes but the east balcony (facing the beach) was shady and comfortable. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We asked for extra pillows, which they promptly brought to us. We enjoyed the outdoor grill for dinner one night and really enjoyed the preparations. The breakfast buffet in the morning had all of the fruits, meats, perfectly-prepared eggs and pastries we could hope for, and the staff graciously let us get an early start on breakfast the morning we rented a boat. The atmosphere throughout was light, clean and uplifting, enhanced by the ultra-friendly staff. It's not even a question that we will return here on our next trip to Sardinia."
