The hotel is insanely, gaudily beautiful with an immersive Egypt-themed setting from the entrance to the reception, dining area, walkways, stairwell and even swimming pool. I felt like an explorer in Egypt with the pyramid images, pharohs and all. Was kinda paranoid that they'll come to "life" at night and come knocking on my door! Hahaa... :"D
The dishes from room service were lying on top of the fire hydrant from the time i checked in till the time i checked out. I didn't take notice if they were the same dishes, but it kinda tarnished the cleanliness of the hotel, which was such a pity.
Breakfast buffet line closes at 10am. I was at the dining area at 940am, and there were barely any food left. Two couples came along and the staff brought out some food to lay onto the buffet spread. Though there were not many items to start off with, I was still appreciative that they bothered to bring out more food for the few of us.
It's about 15 minutes walk from the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal to the hotel. Although it is not right smack at the ferry terminal where the mega shopping mall is, it was still quite a good price to pay for such a clean, beautiful hotel with swimming pool that is within reasonable walking distance to amenities.
