"Gefallen hat uns die Lage der Unterkunft sehr nah am historischen Stadtkern. Wäre das Wetter schöner gewesen hätte uns auch der Außenbereich gut gefallen. Es war auch alles vorhanden was man für 2 bis drei Tage braucht. Insgesamt wirkte die Möblierung sehr zusammengestückelt und altmodisch. Was uns aber gestört hat war, dass so viel Nippes herum lag, d.h. unnütze Dekoartikel und deswegen kein Platz um etwas Eigenes abzulegen vorhanden war. Leider war die Stromversorgung so schwach, dass man...

The architecture and design used elements of stone, wood, metal and textile in a modern way that still honors the past. The hosts were exceptionally attentive and friendly. The breakfast was as delicious as it was beautiful. I will hold this place in my heart’s memory."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Cenobio Hotel in Matera. Staying in a cave hotel was such a unique experience and felt like the perfect way to experience the Sassi, while still being incredibly comfortable. The climate-controlled air conditioning worked wonderfully, and the room was a welcome retreat after spending the day exploring Matera. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was Mario. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to take care of us. He met us in the piazza where our taxi dropped us off and helped us carry our luggage to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated given Matera’s many steps and stone streets! He was also incredibly helpful during our stay, including assisting us with restaurant reservations. The combination of the beautiful cave accommodations, wonderful location, and genuinely personal hospitality made this one of the memorable stays of our trip through Italy. We would highly recommend Cenobio to anyone visiting Matera and would happily stay here again."

"Brilliant hotel has everything needed, unfortunately they was doing works on bottom floor but can only imagine how beautiful it will look when done. Reception staff could be a little more friendly as I did ask a question one morning about getting to a town and had eyes rolled at me. But overall clean and nice hotel definitely want to return."
